Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Pretty sure the reset port and sync speed only works if your line is managed by Vox.
 
My ping at night i still absolute horse. 100+ ping to Counter strike servers. Any news on the IPC upgrade? I just moved from Telkom to you guys now im starting to regret it...
 
It does seem to deteriorate BADLY in the evenings. They know this, yet do nothing about it.

10Mbps line:

Download Speed: 5297 kbps (662.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 415 kbps (51.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 70 ms

You torrenting bud? I find generally my download speed deteriorates if I am uploading.

100Mpbs Fibre in Pretoria, plugged in via ethernet, used to get +- 97Mbps constantly....
Thought my wireless was acting up
 
Couple of us playing Rainbow Six noticed that our pings has recently started to deteriorate badly during the evenings. They go from a playable 200ms to an unplayable 250ms plus and even hit 300ms.

try league of legends lol its most times 300+
 
Checking my SABnzbd history it seems I'm getting line speed during 12-8am (20MB) from usenetbucket.

Based in Durban, which never seems to have issues.

Your 10 Mbps ADSL has about 15% overhead loss, due to the nature of the technology. So you will never get the full 10 Mbps, and anything above 8,5 Mbps is full speed. Nothing to worry about here.

I'll try but it unfortunately uses the Azure data center infrastructure. We however initially connect to servers in either Holland or Ireland.

I will post tracert's before and after the high latency kicks in. Kicks in roughly after 6 PM and dies after 11 PM

I have been experiencing bad speeds with my Showmax streaming.



Are you experiencing any issues? When I access Showmax with Afrihost it is all good.



So the problem is with my Vox account.

Problem is highlighted in bold. It's not the first time this bottleneck between .85 and .86 has been brought to light though. Seems to be affecting almost all clients in JHB, to what seems to be pretty much any destination IP. I could replace 8.8.8.8 with any game server and the high latency from .86 onward would still carry through to the destination IP. Daily. Joyous fat pipe experience

Question to Voxy: What is the cause for THIS PARTICULAR issue, and is there any estimation as to the expected time for it to be reparied?

Damn what was up with the Pings in League of Legends last night 350ms+ was so bad i had to sign up for a afrihost account.

Please VOX fix this. give us an ETA.

Streaming on Netflix also very poor.
