Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Well if VOX deliberately left Cape Town hanging rather than reroute via JHB it may not be a grammatical error either.

Hahaha... quite true ;)
... and if so, that is very scary.

As usual, Cape Town is relegated to the cheap seats in favour of "the centre of the universe" that is JHB.
Funny, last time I checked, our money is the SAME colour, innit?

It's definitely not IPC issues. On Frogfoot FTTH and also getting poor speeds internationally and in some local sites. MyBB speedtest still registering full speed though :wtf:

There was at least one time which went on for weeks, when Vox subscribers in JHB were having major probs., if I recall correctly - think those issues are recorded in the Bolt-on thread ; before Fatpipe became "flavour of the month" due to all the specials.

VOX went the same route with specials that Afrihost did a year ago... and hey, what a surprise, SAME RESULT.
You can't keep giving away / having specials without increasing capacity. One may argue that it is difficult to foresee how much capacity an ISP might need, but you can easily judge by the uptake on all the specials you run, and order accordingly.

Currently, VOX is the worst performing for me in CPT, but I have noticed similar issues (browsing/packet loss/latency spikes/timeouts/etc.) on other ISP accounts. There is definitely an issue in CPT at the moment... let's hope it gets resolved quickly... the longer it takes, the more compounded it will be, and the more we will notice all ISP's having the same issues - that would be disastrous for ALL.

Well I can't test now, but this morning my Afrihost, Telkom and WebAfrica accounts were flying normal while Vox was as dead as a snail that was slowed by Superglu...

I have had excellent performance from Vox on a 50Mb line (full speed 24/7 until today). If you are having issues on multiple accounts it's your line.

I might be wrong, but as far as I know everyone FTTH share the same IPC as ADSL... But I am not at all a network technician...

Definitely wrong. Teraco is independent of Telkom and Telkom IPC is used exclusively for Telkom products (including the lines they rent to ISP's). Don't forget Frogfoot is an entirely different backbone provider to Telkom with a separate physical network.

I have been run through the backbone setup for Frogfoot and Telkom is nowhere in sight (thank goodness).

...and different locations???
VOX is dead from 3 different locations... the other ISP accounts work fine... there are occasions where I have to refresh pages on other ISP accounts (Telkom / MWEB / Afrihost / etc.), but NONE of these are even close to how pathetic VOX is at the moment.

FYI, MWEB has even issued a statement regarding slow international throughput currently - there are others, too (none as affected as VOX).
