Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Estimated 7 hours to download the Base Raspbian OS befor I even start on the apps.

I guess for Legal Reasons they can claim it is fixed, and that VOX is up, but for all practical purposes VOX is still down.

So no streaming tonight and I can't continue working to make up for time lost this afternoon.
All I can do now is try that thing we used to do at night, back in the 80's, I think it was called sleeping.

Internet is working.

Speed test is also showing good speeds. Less peaks and valleys than the past few nights.

Youtube streaming ok in 1080. Only had the one buffer.

Good morning all,

Please note that the wacs and Seacom link have been running stable for the past few hours.

Our engineers will continue to monitor the stability of the services.

Regards,
Michael

Now that WACS and Seacom are performing again. Before that, here in Jozi (maybe somewhere else also?) speeds got slower and slower during the evenings, especially with regards to streaming, and only on Vox. And info on that?

I would also like to know. My line was at a steady 7.0Mb download speed with a ping of 20ms, yet Netflix streaming was appalling. 220p SD at best.

Had no issues with Showmax on Vox last evening after service was restored. Could be though that Showmax uses local servers.

In any event it was a timely reminder that our internet setup is indeed fragile in this country. When the time comes to choose a new ADSL package I'll definitely have a better look at redundancy, I think Vox was found out short in that respect. Completely dead line with zero communication.

All ISP's were caught out, but yes, VOX could have communicated a bit better.

Well Frogfoot still has MAJOR issues. Our Vox fibre is still down here in CT.
