Vox Telecom prices to increase

Got the email last night.

I don't blame them, but it is quite frustrating.

meh, I'm sure they wouldn't just increase it if it wasn't necessary. Sadly, we have a bafoon as president who's causing EVERYTHING to cost more.

Ok, I know some people will probably flame but I thought there was a price lock for lifetime for the people who got in early for the fatpipe deal???

150GB for R164

Am ok with this increase....looks like they tried hard to soften the blow..

I'm not sure about "lifetime" but I also though the price was fixed for a certain period.

But I think their T&C gives them the right to increase the fees.

8.2. It is expressly recorded and agreed that the supplier shall be entitled, on
30 days’ written notice to the customer, to increase the charges payable by
the customer in circumstances of either such increases being specifically
provided for in the proposal or the direct costs to the supplier in providing the
services (including, without limitation, the charges charged by the network
provider(s) in respect of such services) being increased. In such event the
increases to the charges shall be commensurate with the increased costs of
providing the services. Furthermore, the supplier shall be entitled to vary any
savings and/or rates guaranteed or implied to the customer in the event of a
change in network tariffs or the regulatory environment which impacts on the
services on the giving of 30 days’ written notice thereof to the customer

Vox - Top-up increases & amounts needed.

Vox, you need to give details on whether the top-up amounts - Gig4Gig comes to mind - will be increased. You already charge R15/GB for these, which are far more than other ISP's from what I recall. Are you going to still be increasing them by 3.9%, because from what I remember, Afrihost / Axxess only charge around R7/GB for their top-up's.

You should first be decreasing your top-up amounts hugely, before adding on 3.9% if that's what you're intending to do after the 1st April ?

MyBB - can you press them on an answer to this, specifically, and include it in follow-up articles !?

Yeah I got the mail last night. And I'm on this package.

But It's like 9 Rand or something.....

It is still a very good price even with the increase. That is if you got it on the special price.

...I'm sure I lose more than that in change around the house..

That's so true.

I'm very happy with their service and can't complain. I'm sure if they said that the special price will be fixed for a period they will not increase it. ;)

If they could fix my technical issues, great. But after 13 months (1 paying) I think I'll need to jump ship to an ISP that works

You sure it wasn't 100GB for R164, that was later bumped up to 150, and then to add to that they bolted on the free between 12PM and 6AM?

“The rand has lost approximately 50% of its value against the dollar over the last 12 months.”

In the Multichoice article they said 29%?

And Bloomberg said its only 34%.
