Depends on what you need I suppose.

Two ADSL lines + OpenVPN will work. Remember though that you'll be limited to the *upload* speed.

for lOS thats very far :P hahaha
thats the problem with telkom the dsl is ADSL and not DSL
if it was dsl i would not have a problem with a dsl line
though just want to check if anyone has any comments about neotels vpn solutions as well as telkoms vpn solutions

It really comes down to cost versus reliablilty / availability.
ADSL VPN is by far the cheapest option (or possible even bonded ADSL). But ADSL is best effort with no guarantee of uptime.

MPLS VPN solutions are far more reliable and come with guaranteed uptime, 24x7 support and better managed QoS - but you pay for that!
Telkom also offer a simple ADSL VPN solution http://www.telkom.co.za/products_services/vpnlite/index.html that is quite cheap and simple to manage - but is ADSL based.

How much are you willing to spend, and how reliable do you need the VPN to be?

Either get 2 RouterBoards RB750's, its quite cheap, around R400 each. Or 2 Linksys WRT54GL..

Or the cheapest solutions will be Hamachi, its the quickest and no additional hardware needed..

ramar how much do you have to pay can you give me a estimate

also dont need software or hardware just need the connection between the 2

Detail ?????

I used 2 Billion BiPAC 7402X VPN Routers connected to ADSL and created an IPSec VPN between our two branches - was easy to setup and have not had a moments problem in the last 2 years..
wireless-vpn-router.html

I assume you still need an Internet connection ?

ADSL is not a point to point technology.

Did you use an ISP ? Same one on both ends ?

Wonder how the Telkom VPN [lite] works ???? -- SDSL -- exchange to exchange ?

At the moment I am using Telkom's VPN lite and it works well. The only problem I have is the Billion 800VGT routers I am using. They are constantly giving me problems.

I want to set up the VPN lite on Linksys WAG120N Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Routers. Does anyone recommend these routers and will they work with Telkom's VPN lite?
