Hey everyone. So I am considering a move from Somerset West to Vredenburg. I require stable, fast internet access for work and play, but the smallholding I am looking at is not covered by copper or fibre.

I have to look at either a WISP or LTE.

Can anyone recommend a WISP that offers uncapped high-speed internet access? Low(ish) latency would be a big plus.

I've found several WISPs that cover the area, but I would like to hear from people who actually use the WISPs, to find out what their experiences are. I currently have to use a WISP since my house is not covered by fibre or copper, and LTE has been a nightmare of inconsistent speed.

Much thanks.

Do a coverage request on https://wapa.org.za/coverage/home
WAPA Members will get your request and should respond if they have coverage.

Also spot the homes in the area with radios on the roof to ask them who they use and if they are happy with the service they're getting.

Hope you find a reputable service provider soon.

Depending on where you are you can get up to 40mps vdsl and langebaan has fibre thats also a option

The people i know who live there have Telkom ADSL, but then again, they live close to the CBD

My only options are LTE or a WISP, and I usually go through about 500gb a month just on streaming, and between 100 and 200GB of game downloads per month, so LTE is not really an option if I don't want to sell my kidneys. Rain's off-peak uncapped might have worked, but I am outside the coverage area.
