Vuma Reach Phoenix Thread

Yes. If we have available we can request that from Vumatel. Takes a couple of days but can be done.
It has been 8 days and currently awaiting their response to the 2nd ticket you had to log for me after they closed the 1st one.

Excuse my ignorance, I know next to nothing about IPv6, I see it mentioned in the IPv6 thread that it is active on VumaReach. I would like a guide from someone who gets it working using the VumaReach Gpon router. To test I have a throwaway Server 2012r2 VM that I would like to connect to via RDP, it is also a iis webserver. Setup was already running on my previous ISP.

Hi,

Logged a new ticket for you due to the old one being closed without any IP changes being done.

IPv6 is enabled by default and you simply need to have it enabled on your devices which should be by default. If you ping google.co.za for example you will see the IP displayed is an IPv6 IP.

Yes unfortunately Vumatel is just re-provisioning instead of just changing the IP.

Anyone able to recommend a router to use with the 100/50mb under R800?

The ONT clearly can't handle it for wifi purposes

Stretch the budget a little and you will be able to get a true beast!

I think higher speeds will be available soon. 40 megs was introduced in 2020. So maybe in a year or 2 there should be a 100meg option as well.
100mb is already available however comparing the packages Afrihost @ R897 vs WebAfrica @ R799, I think Afrihost should lower there pricing... R98 is a massive gap

I mean. AH does have support staff and Afrinatic to pay. I would easily pay R200-R300 more to not be on WA. Atrocious support and atrocious products. I wish them a slow and painful death :)

I also upgraded my line the same week it was made available to AH customers :)

Seems like everyone's fibre survived the Great Flood.
UK ous puzzling waiting for Vuma to install. We got an email on Thursday saying installations will be delayed due to the storm. My installation date was supposed to be tomorrow.
