I live in Robindale which has not qualified for fibre but Vumatel last week dug up my lawn to lay the fibre to the neighbouring suburb of Robinhills which has qualified.

With this being said, Vumatel has now gone and already installed the fibre box on my boundry wall and gave me their pamphlet on how to order fibre. My question now is although my neighbourhood has not qualified for fibre, will I be able to get it because I was fortunate to be in the path to the Robinhills?

Anyone else been in this situation maybe?

If you have a box on your wall you should be able to order! :D

/edit once the phase you are in has gone live... Which may be a few weeks after they installed the wallbox

/editagain See if you can find the Robin Hills rollout map on google maps, and see if you fall into one of their phases.

And toss a LAN cable over your wall for the poor neighbor :D

Corner of Winston and Mulbarton? I see there are Vumatel cables in the ground there. Yeah - Robindale is still number 9 on the rollout list. I've tried everything to boost the numbers - even had the neighbourhood crime watch person send the link out in her newsletters (numerous times). I managed to get us from 26 to 9. Not sure what else to do. It says we need 60 more people to qualify.

Im in Macarthur avenue near Mulbarton. There has been a steady increase in the number of people, but at the going rate is still going to take months to get there. Im hoping I can actually get it when they are finished with Robinhills. Will have to wait and see I guess..

Mulbarton, thats close... relative...
Anyone point me to the map, want to see how far down the list I am in Brackenhurst Ext 1.

Have you given them a call yet? I am sure they will be able to give clarity, especially if the wallbox has been added to your wall.

This is in Randburg... I'd say there is roughly a 20-40 km gap.

I was referring to Mulbarton, is there 2 Mulbarton's, Brackenhurst is just across the hill from Mulbarton.

anyhow, not important.

Regarding Vumatel, once your area is "qualified", what happens after that?

Just in case you are not aware, if you want to know if Vumatel is in your area, login to their website and type in your address. It will give you a view whether they are rolling out and how far the n the process they are see example https://vumatel.servicezones.net/johannesburgnorthcentral/blairgowrie once you are on the Vumatel network getting connected is easy. Checkout the ISP's on the Vumatel portal.

Some of those trenches/holes on Truman (at Cloverly) have been there for almost more than a month now. And I saw that there were open holes on Cottage/MacArthur for about 3 weeks now too.

I wonder if Vumatel isn't trying to do too much now and not being able to finish the jobs in time.

To be honest I am just happy to see that hole in the ground as I did not even expect them to start this year. On the Vumatel website it still shows Robindale as number 9 on the waiting list.
