Vumatel launches Vuma Key

Let's just hope Vuma manages this themselves. Imagine trying to get hosting support and there is an outage in Alexandra and all those R99 people are on the line to the ISP demanding it be sorted immediately because it's costing them thousands for not having internet...

Ok let's try explain it this way. In an area of low bandwidth demand they might run a GPON split of 1:128 and in a larney area where there is high demand for bandwidth they might run a 1:16 split. That means less fibre strands, less ports, less overhead.
With less value at a higher comparable price. They also broke their model of "simplicity" by introducing more packages. You seem unable to understand that the lower cost of deployment so lower price has not materialised and that they're being scammed.

Vumatel also runs AON in "larney" areas while GPON in reach areas.

I don't think you're not grasping the point I'm making or understanding how capacity planning, distribution and network connectivity works especially when serving areas of different demand and varying profiles. Raising the AON side of their network or VUMA introducing packages doesn't change the argument.

If you like it'd be more productive to argue technical reasoning rather than broad statements and analogies.

I think you're unable to grasp that the original plan is now no longer in use. They failed!

Once again, if you'd like to explain technically why they failed that'd be more conducive to the discussion. You're really not putting forward a cogent argument.

It's pointless when you're unable to understand what their original reasoning was and what they wanted to achieve.

See, that's your problem. It's not a technical argument.
Of course it is. The price is based on the topology and capacity planning based on the target market. Vuma can get away with an astronomical split ratio in an area of low demand and wouldn't dare to use the same split in a high demand area. You get that that has an impact on cost? Customers in one are have a different profile to those in another.

You get the cost differential has disappeared? If anything what was supposed to be cheaper is now more expensive.

I also don't think you understand the technology being used.

The thing about imagination is...you can make anything up.

It has? Explain how based on how they might implement differently based on the areas they deploy to?
I also don't think you understand the technology being used.
Bwahahahah. Clearly it's not me, it's you.

Also the model for Vuma Key is a little different. It's basically all aerial fibre with local agents that provide service and support which live in the community the service serves.

Then explain it. I explained my point, you've yet to explain your nonexistent one and keep waffling about technologies when I showed those no longer apply.

I'd like to see them get real support from someone in a shack.

Clearly you're not grasping what I've already explained. I've asked you to explain your statement and you're deflecting.

I explained my statement. You can't explain yours and are now resorting to what I showed are irrelevancies.

It's a model used in many countries and most first line is really basic troubleshooting device connectivity etc.
These people don't troubleshoot, they're not qualified. They are resellers and nothing more so good luck in getting to someone at Vuma to sort out actual issues.

Nah you're just arguing using broad statements and analogies. Once again, offer a cogent argument to explain your statement. I've explained why a deployment like Vuma Key would be different to a residential area in a high demand area. Did you miss it or what specifically don't you understand?

I won't comment further on this statement - it's just ignorance.

You haven't. You just waffle on about different technologies.
