Hi All,

Vumatel have highlighted the above areas with "Show My Interest". So if you live in the above areas please
fill in your details on their website so we can get fibre in these areas.

I'll be dropping off flyers that they, were so kind to give to me after I asked them for some.

Please tell you neighours, friends and family. If you know anyone living in the area please tell them as well.

Thanks :)

Did so last week! Had another 1,600 houses to go to reach sufficient interest.

Any idea what's the current numbers?

Well then any idea when the whole area will go live?

Ormonde SDC's are being installed, once that is complete the DFA links will be delivered, looking at 4-6 weeks.

However, if you are in a complex in Ormonde or Evans Park, rather PM me, as those form part of a different build project.

That's good news. So the grey box on my wall belongs to SADV? I was told it was for Vodacom

Was also told it’s for Vodacom. We were on the coverage map for Vodacom, but two weeks later we were taken off it.

Vodacom sales guys were even signing people up.

So, the high level story is that the contractor built the network including the grey box on your wall for Vodacom, and vodacom pulled out of the deal, so we bought the network from the contractor instead.

See post #10 .

Vodacom are still an ISP on our open access network.

Sorry/not sorry about the necro, but here we are, 9 months later, with another "6 weeks" before going live according to SADV reps. I understand there were technical issues, but to have spread yourselves so thin that you can't sort out a technical issue or even initiate communications with your signed-up clients for 9 months is staggering. Each month I give SADV a checkup call to see the going-live status of your fibre network in Ormonde, and each time the eta seems to get moved back two months. Through all of this, SADV also seems to keep giving ISPs the go ahead to canvas the areas signing up clients, clients who are under the impression they can cancel their current service because they've signed contracts to get fibre. I got quite excited myself when SADV's last-mile subcontractor came and actually installed the fibre line and router in my home, thinking I was finally going to get the fibre connection I signed a contract for back in September 2018. Unfortunately for me that installation was three months ago, and the timeline has been pushed back again. Honestly just shocking service delivery and communications. Everyone I've dealt with from SADV has been pleasant, I will give you that, but there's just nothing to back it up.

The short version is that the network as built doesn't meet the planning or our technical specifications. We are undertaking massive re-builds and re-configuration of the network currently. Unfortunately I don't have an ETA, and the recent rain hasn't helped. I will make a note to get an ETA at Fridays' PMO meeting.

The areas don't seem to be in the pipeline for Vuma anymore if you look at their latest map. I have been waiting for SADV for forever... I actually thought that maybe they have a working relationship with certain ISP amd I have hoped from ISP to ISP trying my luck. It sucks more now with my DSL line due to cable issues/theft for a week now.

Hi, do you have an ETA?

They still busy fixing it. I've been live since Feb. Everything has been at line speed. But been off since Monday. Net44 guys came to my street yesterday to check the cables in the grey boxes, they need to check every single box/lines in the area.

Are there any other options out there beside ADSL and FTTH? I'm thinking satellite internet but I don't know who is the best/recommend out there?
