We were told that as from the 1st July, our fibre speeds would double as Vumatel had finally joined other providers in lowering their prices after many consumer complaints. So far this has not happened. On enquiry with VOX we are told that they are busy making the adjustments. Firstly, I don't believe it's such a mission to do, and secondly, if the promise was made to activate on 1st, then all "WORK" to do this should have been done in time for the deadline.

Either they heard me or it was just co-incidence, but the speeds are now up. This morning they weren't

Mine are up but you must submit a request to drop your price to the lower tariff, not automatic.

I work for an ISP and it's probably Vumatels portal because it is not a great system. Some ISPs definitely had issues with upgrades I know we have as well

I queried the timing with Vox and was courteously dealt with by customer services - who told me that due to the number of accounts impacted, it could take 7-14 working days.
The next day (today) I find my download speed up to the promised new value, but the upload speed still the same.
This looks like a technical issue on which I'm not competent to comment, rather than laziness.

My speed went up from 20/20 to 50/50 but the price has not changed. I thought that was normal.. Am I wrong?

Do you work for an ISP ? Since you seem to know its not that difficult.

Why don't you just chill and wait for your FREE upgrade

Just had a customer service call with Vox, on the issue of my download speed being 50 but my upload speed remaining at 20.
They say they're going to have to go to Vumatel on this, as there doesn't seem to be anything they can do about it.

What are you talking about? Do you work for Vox or something
Vumatel as an FNO made some package changes and pricing decreased as a result. Vox Telecom decided NOT to pass these price reductions on to their customers.
If you're on a package that didn't change you have to request the new pricing that they offer now. Very deceitful

My fibre speed has reached what it was supposed to be, down and up, this morning.
Think it was a Vumatel issue.

Guys yal need to relax. I downgraded my package to 50/50 and the pricing has reflected properly however, my speed is still pegged at 100/100 lol. ....The downgrade went through and i even confirmed with vox rep if i am on 50/50and indeed i am. I am hoping it stays that way paying 50/50 money for 100/100 speeds lol .

A Vumatel+Vox combination is a train wreck. I was on OpenServe + WebAfrica for years with zero issues but was forced onto Vumatel when I moved in August. It's been one massive frustration dealing with Vox who's dealing with Vumatel. Vumatel again mistakenly terminated my fibre last night and it is a effen nighmare to get whomever to effen restore the service. Having only one fibre service provider in an estate is such a bad idea. No competition. It's Vumatel or Vumatel in the estate I am in now and Vumatel is clearly not switched on and Vox is useless in dealing with them to put it mildly. WFH is not going to work well with these clowns.

Vox is a slow turning ship and I'm quoting them directly. Also it really blows that Vumatel shut down most direct communication channels with them.

I have to ask though, have you asked your body corporate for contact details? Usually they'll have somebody's number as the Fibre Provider's infrastructure is on private property
