Africa has no musical talent. Blowing one note continuously on a vuvuzela doesn't count as musical entertainment.

wow. thanks for pointing that out.had no idea. Ever watched a Ghanaian or Nigerian football match?

i give up.
we should have another poll. how many mybb members have actually ever attended a local soccer match.

In reply to a fed up journalist who complained about the "terrible noise" that the unique South African vuvuzelas make and suggested that they should be banned, the FIFA president smiled and said he agreed that the "trumpet" used by local fans was a noisy instrument. "But," he
added, "That is what African and South Africa football is all about - noise, excitement, dancing, shouting and enjoyment. This is a celebration."

So Seb Blatter admits that this vuvuzela is not a proper musical instrument but that it should be tolerated just as African inadequacies should also be tolerated for God knows how long.

"noise, excitement, dancing, shouting and enjoyment." These attributes are precisely why African football ( ... ) will never be on par with football in the rest of the world. It's just fun and games for them ... as is work.

I don't know what Fernando means but kwaito doesn't count as music.

Thats your opinion...one which the majority of South Africans would disagree with.

Back on topic: these vuvuzelas aren't even that bad, you should go to a Chiefs vs Pirates derby where you have sirens, drums and whistles added to it...and 80 000 people.

Most South Africans are black Africans.

These are the people who freaking attend the matches. Now the "whites" want to come and say, "hey guys, sorry but those things are noisy."
people who have no interest in local soccer now want to tell the fans how they should attend games.
This is soccer. IF you want peace and quiet go watch a game of golf or tennis:D

get over it.
soccer city 11 july 2010
91,000 spectators.(noise...noise..noise)

if you want peace and quiet. go for a walk in the park OR use your wireless headset in the stadium to pick up the commentary.

Dude, it is certainly not as clear cut as that.

There is a BIG difference between a game with great atmosphere, with the crowd singing and chanting and dancing and the constant monotone drone of an army of trumpets for 90 minutes. It is pathetic. Does not create 'atmosphere' at all.

This will go on and on. I just wanted to make it clear to international visitors who'll find this thread that 90% of the people complaining here have never even attended a local soccer match.
So I wouldn't take the poll results too seriously.

100% correct. Its not that we complaining about the noise levels , we complaining about the bloodly sound these trunpets make. Its ****.I much prefer , 100 000 ppl waving fans all together , and flares going off.
