VW Golf 7 Replacement

This is strange, and disappointing. Very nice cars.

Not entirely sure what happened, though. You mention clutch/gearbox issues with the first vehicle. Now there's a 'whine' from the turbo? So it's not really 'going the same way', unless you just meant there are problems again. Did you have the 'whine' the first time as well?

Maybe take it to a different dealership to have the check it out?

@OP aren't you over analysing every little noise cause you are scared something is wrong?

My 2.0 TSI Scirocco also has a slight whine when accelerating

I suspect the whining is nothing to do with the car, but the SO in the passenger seat. :D

The noise in question was not there when we got either car and developed over the first 10,000kms.

I think this is normal. You can hear the turbo on the TSI engine.
When you accelerate you hear a "suuuweeeeeep" :)

POS as in Preferred Over Shyte (like a Golf).

Look VW's aren't the most aesthetically invigorating cars. They are conservative almost to a fault.
But if you want exciting at least go for something that looks the part. That Opel is the benchmark for bland.

Eco Sport. SO just got the 1l ecoboost, fantastic car. You will be surprised by the boot space. Drove 4 of us yesterday from the airport with 2 large bags, backpack + 2 country road bags, easy fit (height!).

Nothing comes close to the new DS range in terms of styling, yet compared to Opel all I can say is that its not German.

Is Opel still German?
No idea if the DS range is any good. But once burned by a French car, twice shy. Very unlikely I'll buy another one in my lifetime. I agree on their styling being amaze-balls.

Just to cover it again, I understand a turbo should be making a sound. This is distinctly different though.

Either way the cars going, trade offers basically settle the finance and get the original deposit back.

Seems we are going with the BMW. Pram doesn't fit in the ecosport. Rav4 interior is consistently Toyota.

Went to look at the new X-trail as well though, *gasp*, if it wasn't that I'm not paying for anything on my car I would have ordered it on the spot!
