I just received this sms....anyone else received it?
My son has a Polo Tsi...
I don't even know what they're talking about.....would you be concerned and have it checked out?
It's a 2016 model

Too poor to drive VW but it seems legitimate.

If they were asking for identification details, then I'd be wary.

sounds like a scam to me, as where is your VIn number?

also where does one search vin numbers in SA, cant you see with that if you are affected?

The number seems legit.

Does the car have a tow bar on it? (not going ask if there's any chrome left on it)

No tow bar and that's why I'm confused

YES !!!! It's that. Seeing it's a VW he will need it one day. (Jokes)
@EMAM this needs to be checked out. Maybe the hook itself is kak, or the place where it attaches to is kak.
 
@Foxhound5366 since you are the only other Polo driver that springs to mind, although I think you have a 2018+ model IIRC

Ahhhh, that makes sense....

Funnily enough, his car was towed once and the towing company did have a problem with something and, in the process managed to stuff up his front bumper....they paid for the damages
I wonder now if this had something to do with it

It's legit. Recall is for the hook attachment. I wouldn't stress. I'm just gonna ask for the new part when my car goes for service.
