VW Polo problem with car stalling while driving

I am always told that its the pump. My worry is I drive about 200km fine then it just starts to drop the acceleration, I park for an hour and can again drive surely if its the pump is down should the car move again? I actually replaced my pump some 8 months ago. Can someone help? It normally happens in the heat.

Hi, me too I'm having pretty the same problem since 6 months and any mechanic in my country knows what's wrong exactly, every-time when it's too hot, the car stop while driving it and need to wait 5 minutes to 1 hour to re start and also when I do the full tank, it smell fuel for the next 150km ... by the way it's a VW polo 6n1, please need help. Have you been able to fix your mate.
 
My problem is my polo 5 1,6 just switched off the engine, it turns the engine I just put OBDI READER ,It shows error reading
 
Hi Peeps, i am experiencing the same as Fappas. I have a Polo Playa 2002- The car stalls during driving locally, if i drove on a highway it does not switch off. It switches off as if there isn't any fuel. I give it a few minutes then start again & drive. After a few km's it would do the exact same, mostly happens when its a hot day. Any advice besides the fuel pump?
 
Hi guys .im driving a Polo 2009 hatch.
My car drives perfect for +/-180 km
and dies while driving.When you keep foot on Accelerator it somehow comes on again and dies.When Coming to standstill ,it dies .If you try starting it,it idles for 3sec and dies again.I then need to wait +/-30min To 1hour(for something to cool down,dont know what).Then i can start and drive again for 10km .It then repeats the process and dies under my feet.. no engine light comes on.
Ive replace fuel filter,fuel pump,checked fuel lines.
But problem still persists
.Anyone having the same problem ?what can i look for?please help

Clean the throttle body, mass airflow sensor and idle valve, it could also be a coil but start with the less expensive stuff.

I've got a similar issue with my Polo 1.4 tdi 2006. It starts great when cold. When it reaches temp, it starts to shake, then dies. I have to wait a few minutes before I can attempt starting it again. When I do get it started, it will go for about 100m then dies again... repeat the process...

I have replaced the following:
Diesel filter
fuel temp sensor
crank sensor
camshaft sensor
diesel pump

Has anyone experienced the same or have any advise?

Take it to a mechanic for diagnostics otherwise you will change 1000 parts before its fixed.

Your ECU is probably shot.

You can't, I am not a fan of fiddling with ECUs, maybe it's because I have come across plenty accusations directed at the poor ECU from a lot of people, it always turns out to be something else.

But if you want to get it tested take it to a proper place, the are a couple of places depending on where you are, Google them.
 
Sounds like a water temp sensor issue.

I've let it idle for +- 3 hours at a time and the engine idles without any issues. It doesnt cut out like when I drive for a while.
 
Drive it without closing fuel tank, it might be that the air inlet in the tank is blocked/nearly blocked and a vacuum is formed. Just a guess. I had it with a Jetta.
