You say that it is not charging batteries, but is it servicing essential loads?Hi, I need help please.
We have a general area power failure and cloud so I am on battery now.
Wanted to run the generator to charge the battery full for tonight but something is not working.
My manual change over switch is installed before the inverter and the CT coil is between the change over and the first earth leakage.
Generator is running, swith changed to generator. My Sunsynk 8kw sees the AC and reports every normal but it will not take any of that power to charge the battery.
I checked the timer settings and it is currently set to charge the battery to 100% with grid ticked.
Any ideas?
The inverter shows that AC is present but it is taking no power from the gen. It was running for about 20 minutes without anything happening. You say that it is not charging batteries, but is it servicing essential loads?
Also how long did you run it for? It will take some time before it stabilises.
Post some pics of some of the setting screens and the work flowThe inverter shows that AC is present but it is taking no power from the gen. It was running for about 20 minutes without anything happening.
It should not take that long, maybe 30-60s at most. The inverter shows that AC is present but it is taking no power from the gen. It was running for about 20 minutes without anything happening.
I'm assuming the generator is off now as the AC light is not on.Only pic I have now is this one.
Which other settings should I look at?![]()
Correct.I'm assuming the generator is off now as the AC light is not on.
Generator rated at 5.5kw so I shaved it to 4.5kw.What is the kW / kVA rating of your genny?
Have you checked that it does work normally (when you have a load plugged in directly?
Very interesting that you got it to work on the Aux, but not on the main grid feed. I also see that you played with the load-shaving, this is important with a genny that is lower than the inverter's load. Also, broadening the voltage and frequency parameters of the genny input, it is what I would have done.
Thank you. I will try that.50A at 48V is 2400 Watts, so coupled with a load of "under 3kW" is probably maxxing it out. Try reducing it to 15A, and then stepping it up little by little?
Victims of SunSynk's popularity Or lack of spare components ?Yes, there were a lot of inverters on the workshop floor. Hoping that they are just busy and have not yet gotten to mine. An update from their side would have been nice.
Who knows. Must mention it was a mix of Sunsynk and Deye inverters that i saw.Victims of SunSynk's popularity Or lack of spare components ?
