W@P's Solar System

Is the alarm light still on or is it just the error that's still in the error log.
That's the odd thing. There's no error in the log and the alarm light isn't on. Only the alarm is going.

So it looks like I might have to take the inverter in to get checked out. FML!
They did the rollback on the firmware but the F34 error remains. Hopefully, it's just a fuse or something.

That sucks. Especially now that we have load shedding.

I think I've had 4 alarms since my system went live nearly 20 months ago. All of it my own doing and not a fault on the inverter.

I cant imagine that it is damaged. I mean I was just running an AC on Friday night when the inverter did its firmware update. The power went off and after 2-3 min it came back for like 20 seconds and went off again and started with the alarm.

I have reset to factory settings twice. I left it completely powered off for a few hours. As soon as you flip the switch for eskom and the inverter want to start with doing what it does the alarm comes on. If i leave eskom completely off there is no alarm. But also no feed to the house from the batteries or from PV. Its as if there was a surge when the inverter restarted after the update and that blew a fuse or triggered the alarm that stays on whenever there is AC power present.

Have you tried measuring the incoming AC feed?

So i dropped off the inverter at Sunsynk in JHB yesterday. The time frame sounds like 2 weeks.
There is a ton of inverters lying in their workshop looking like they waiting for repairs. Sunsynk and Dye inverters.
It looks worrying but i guess if you sell a fsck load of sunsynk and dye inverters you are bound to have some units in for repairs.

I made it clear to them that there was no load shedding power up or lightning or something like that. It was purely the inverter that restarted after a firmware update with a load less than 1kw. Will wait and see what they say.

Mine started making a strange clicking sound. I was told I might have to send it in and was told the same, 2-3 weeks turn around time. Honestly, not too impressed.

I did a hard reset and powered down and the noise has gone away but I am sure it will return.

Yes, my gen/eskom change over is before the inverter. Change over was already there before the solar installation so we left it like that instead of connecting the gen to the inverters gen input.
Hi, I need help please.
We have a general area power failure and cloud so I am on battery now.

Wanted to run the generator to charge the battery full for tonight but something is not working.

My manual change over switch is installed before the inverter and the CT coil is between the change over and the first earth leakage.

Generator is running, swith changed to generator. My Sunsynk 8kw sees the AC and reports every normal but it will not take any of that power to charge the battery.

I checked the timer settings and it is currently set to charge the battery to 100% with grid ticked.

Any ideas?

What is the frequency it's reporting?

Is the generator now on the grid input of the sunsynk?

Hi,

Generator shows 50.2hz and yes the changeover switch is before the inverter so it feeds into the grid connection.

Thank you

Sorry to hear but i have no idea what the problem can be.
