WA response to pricing reductions

Network 21 sells Mweb ADSL as part of their 'benefits' - can we by means of association assume that all Network 21 'consultants' (or whatever they call themselves these days) also suffer from a lack of grey matter. Please say yes!
 
Here is my e-mail sent to WA this morning:

"Hi,

I have sent several e-mails in this regard but it seems that my questions are being avoided.
There was an announcement that prices were to come down at the beginning of March, alas my invoice for March is actually higher than my previous one.

I don't need an extra GB as what has been added to my account, as I barely use my allocated 3GB.

Can you please clear this matter up for me, is there any ways for me to benefit from the price reductions, or is my only option left to cancel my accoun t and move elsewhere?

BTW this is my 3rd e-mail on the matter since yesterday morning, the only reply I got was 1 e-mail stating that Webafrica is giving me extra 33% of Bandwidth, to which I replied that it will be of no benefit to me, and to please let me know what other options there are. I then followed it up with a complaint regarding pricing sent both to this e-mail address as well as sales@webafrica both e-mails remain unaswered to date.

Webafrica normally answers my queries within a couple of hours. It seems that they are avoiding the issues that I am raising. I must say that this whole pricing/dodging answers/poor feedback to clients from Webafrica has really left a bad taste in my mouth. I have been a WA Client since 2002.

You can get prepaid from Afrihost or GConnect for +-R39 gigabyte. With the benefit that whatever you don't use carries over to the next month. If you only use 1 gig in a particular month, you only pay for that. The package you are on makes absolutely no economic sense whatsoever. Not only are you paying more per gig, but you have no flexibility. You lose what you don't use, and if you do reach your cap you don't even get the free local only data that you would with Telkom or MWeb. That is how bad it is.

If pricing drops and your subscriber base and usage remains constant, then of course you're going to suffer a loss. But normally if your price drops and the volume of use increases (meaning, you sell more of the product) then you're more than likely to still remain profitable. Case & point, Mcdonalds.

edit: this is true for any thing, the cheaper a product, the more of it people will buy. convenience also plays a roll, so your current subscriber base MAY surprise you even if you do drop pricing 80%

If you had completed the course, you would have learnt that companies normally charge the most the market will bear.

I don't actaully care for the lame FAQ from the OP , but that is your version and your entitled to it. I'm sticking with my R29 per GB offer.
When I got ADSL 2 year back I looked through all the ISP's and found Axxess to be a way beter deal than yours anyways. So keep your offers and I also don't need to be 1 or the lucky 100, cause I would not enjoy using that bandwidth knowing you can brag about a cheaper than R29/GB offer when actaully it's a quick marketing gimmick.

That happens when quality changes at the same time. Savings have to come from somewhere. In the case of Afrihost, for example, they have little or no support. They also don't have an EFT facility, which is a cost benefit.

LOOOOL I'm very happy getting my Afrihost account go of on debit saves my the trouble of logging onto internet banking. I have allways got good support the few times I had any problems. Guess you have verrrrry bad luck :D

You may be able to get them up before the 4MB expires. Just spend 15 minutes in Off Topic and you will have well over 50 posts. Then apply for the 4MB option.

I've seen you post things like this before on the WA forums and then you say you were banned because "for speaking the truth and asking Matt why he is ripping off his resellers". No wonder you were banned, when all they ask for in return for being active on forums is civility :P

You know, yeah I said some harsh words on their Forum every now and again out of pure frustration I suppose and I like to make some remarks here and there. I am not the only one.

We have had to fork out thousands over the last couple of months just for being loyal WA Customers. I almost lost my Job over this as I convinced the MD to stick with WA.

Keep in mind that not all of my 800 plus posts on WA where bad, in the contrary, some of them going back several years avtually helped change some of WA's ways of doing things.

Sorry if you feel offended if I make a snotty remark about WA but I think that they deserve it especially taking into account how they have been treating their resellers.

Take it with a pinch of salt buddy :p

I admit, I'm a lurker, I've seen your old posts back in the day and I agree, it wasn't all bad. You're one of the people that helped make WA a better company as a whole with your criticism and suggestions.

I don't particularly care about you badmouthing WA or delivering any criticism, I just find it interesting you didn't expect the ban after some of the *more recent* things you've said on their forums =P
