Your titan accounts were awesome when they came out. I hailed your name and was your biggest supporter. Then you decided to change things around and now we the customer are no longer being looked after.
Im my world WA connections are nowhere near as good as they were. Particularly for WoW. We use to get great pings and little latency. Now your connectivity plays like any other IS connection.

Your pricing for top up has forced me to get a prepaid axxess account just so I can finish with this month. I am also considering canceling my titan account and going for something that is more flexible with yet another fail ISP in the country. i am assuming this is what you want because you are doing everything you can in your power to milk us for our cash. The final LOL came when I was given the option to "UPGRADE" my current titan account

Take a look see at the price and the amount of bandwidth I get after my so called upgrade. Seriously this is not cool of you WA. I once loved you and now i just feel like a rejected child.

big massive sigh

another pissed off WA client... nothing new..
feel my pain rapts..

damn cant believe all the bad reports of Wa they suppose be best in the country with speed and support, they prices will be expensive as they use sat3 , but you pay for quality :)

Whats the latency like using axxess unshaped, i used them beginning of the year when both AH and Axxess latency parked off at 1 second average for world of warcraft.
R19 for a GB of unshaped seems a sweet deal. il try em anyways.

WA - R299 for 15GB of Data which includes ADSL (384k) line rental is still a good deal. I just wish 512k was not such a rip off. I would love the doubled upload.

i tried their lite (seacom) and it was crap compared to web africa shaped/prepaid/unshaped or even plain IS unshaped.

Hi Rapts

I have noticed from the link that you were one of the lucky customers to get hold of out Titan Special.

With this image, you are comparing a Special that we ran, for a limited period, to our normal packages. Therefore, you are seeing the normal price of the package in the "AFTER" section. We haven't increased any price to our packages, just renamed them accordingly.

Regarding your latency issues, if you currently still experiencing these issues, please provide me more information via PM in order for me to get the engineers to investigate the cause. However, our general latency issues have been resolved.

Yes of course the special was a lovely thing. But does that now give WA the right to bend me over the barrel? The thing that really irks me is the sneaky so called 'upgrade' one gets on the so called upgrade page. Which as you can see is a MASSIVE downgrade. This to me looks down right sneaky and rude. Furthermore, giving us a special in the past does by no means give you the right to try and what seems like a rip off tactic for the future. I have no problem paying for a better service, but being ripped off does not constitute paying for a marginally better service. Current prices is R98 for 2Gig topup.....

I understand that WA are trying to establish the best deals and prices that will make them profit and all the rest. But try not make it to obvious that you to are following in the footsteps of telkom and their strategies ( I do not need to elaborate on this). WA had the potential to be an amazing company that sould have redefined this money grabbing attitude present in the telecomms industry in ZA. Alas the dark side has them captured and we the consumer are suffering.

the sighing continues

O Rly!
The home data packages are insane!
the lol continues
the ONLY cheap option is to hand your telkom line over to WA for teh complete package deal, erm NTY, ide rather fight my own battles with those plonkers ;)

I gotta agree with the OP here. I'm a Titan special user, 4MB line + 25GB for R600pm. I recommended WA to several other people on this forum at the time.

But damn, what's up with the top-up prices now? I'm sorry but this is insane. It's a great special, until you hit your cap and get raped again! I've been a very happy WA customer for a while but now I'm looking for other options, I might switch to uncapped.
Caps weren't such a big deal with the cheap top-ups, but now with the crazy price increase I have to worry about hitting that usage limit. So I'm considering uncapped, even if it means a speed decrease, because I hate having to try to manage the family internet usage.

You hit the nail on the head here. This is exactly how a lot of us feel.

I like the service WA has to offer, I believe I get good value for money for what I pay. Sadly after the recent changes I fell that next year I may have to leave WA and find someone with cheaper top up rates. They could at least offer the download plus at the old topup rates R45/3gb, instead they want you to commit to a large monthy charge.

You actually got Service ?

One thing I will give WA credit for is their service. Communicating with them has never been a problem.

My family has been getting some real s**t service from the likes of a VW dealer selling us a car that falls apart and giving us more problems every time we get it fixed (turns out the Mastercars cover is a load of bulls**t, at least they pick and choose what to cover when things actually go wrong), garden service people and electricians that say they'll come and just disappear, and Nedbank who is just utterly useless, even though we had private banking, so the whole family left them.

SA companies generally have horrible service, WA stands out by actually being pretty good in that area.

Hi guys,

I hope I can clear up these issues surrounding the Recharge discontinuation that have occurred recently. This is the R45 for 3GB's special we ran for quite a while. Please see my points below:

Surely it is flawed to compare a special to a standard, month to month offering?
The Recharge feature was never meant to be a month-month product. We did state this when we launched the special a few months ago.
By saying that our Topup rates have increased is completely false too. Before our Business and Home offerings we offered a R69/GB topup price that did not expire.

We've now added a non-rollover topup which is R10 cheaper than the rollover Topup. Price on our home packages being R49.
So let's compare the old Topup pricing model to the new one:

Old:
  • R69/GB
  • Never expires

New:
  • R49/GB
  • Never expires
OR
  • R39/GB
  • Expires month end

If we're going to compare apples with apples, you can compare the old vs. new Topup pricing. Old being R69/GB and the new being R49/GB - both which roll over. This is hardly a price increase?

It is a retarded increase compared to what I am paying for with the 15 gig on the titan. Are WA trying to figure out a way for us to no longer have this package? I am sure you guys are frantically coming up with a plan. Must be very painfull for WA to allow us to have 15 GB at R20 a gig.
