WACS Cable: 400Gbps from day one

You guys are yapping far more than the people installing the cable. Have any of you noticed the low uncapped prices and even the low capped prices?

Axxess DSL does R19 per GB. Openweb does Uncapped for R539 (4096) (Yes same price as MWEB) but if you sign a debit ordery they'll upgrade your account to a semi-unshaped account. Then you won't even have issues when Seacom decides to do "maintenance".

Afrihost does Uncapped at R497 (4096) though they'll throttle high usage users after 60GB of downloads and be careful coz they don't tell you that. U'll have to find it out for yourself. Openweb and MWEB on the other hand does not throttle you after any amount of usage.

hehe... I'm glad somebody else likes to go back and highlight all the bitching and whining from months ago. I wonder how many of the people who complained in this thread were willing to eat their words when Mweb launched their recent deals? :D And if that all happened in a year... what will it be like in another year?

Lol. no problem.

Yeah. I think their choking on it now. Even telecomms cost are being cut big time!

Did you see the minister's plans by 2018?

You know, it's not just the addition of wacs, but also EASsy and SEACOM and there's a few others too.

There's even the CAM and the atlantis2 connecting directly to South America. Though that's an old line. But we're coming on and I'm certain they'll add some additional bandwidth in future.
SEACOM was designed to carry 1.28Tb/s and is currently only delivering 100Gb/s as initial bandwidth. As the need arise they will upgrade the equipment to handle higher capacity.

With recent downtime, I can see the importance of the new line because so many people were affected.
