That site has never been great for me, they're single threaded downloads, I'm getting 110Kbps/13.5Mbps, "real" download/upload is getting me 5/100Mbps, but yeah, WACS is broken at a bad time.

Given that users of SANREN will follow that twitter feed for network updates, they actually are doing their users a service. Its not necessarily that SANREN will experience issues, but that the users might doing other things...

Precisely from that feed, its relatively easy to figure out which cable has the break when you go to Submarine Cable map. Tata only own one cable that lands as Seixal and Highbridge.

Yes but if they are re-routing the latency could be slower. Gaming needs best latency possible especially to Europe.

What i cannot understand is why is it that due to this one cable going down all of a sudden everything slows down. It is not like we do not have more cables around to reroute? Don't the ISP's have redundancy built in? Does no one use Seacom anymore?
