Cell C N1 City told me topup will be 39c/Mb. If that is the case, I'll only use the in bundle data & Neotel for the rest.

surely this can't be right - R1000 would give you only 2.5GB - you might as well take out another R999 modem and 2GB/month deal?

I am happy as long as i get 2 Mbps download and 0.1 Mbps upload for that price. With these speeds i can use Voip.
 
The special includes a modem & a certain amount of data at a fixed price. Any additional data can be purchased at 39c/mb
 
According to Google map im 550m away from the Cell C tower :whistle: wonder what speeds im going be getting? If their o/b rate is 39c/Mb,and Virgin is 60c/Mb..hmmm :whistle:
(its point to point measurement for all those smartasses that are going google Cell c location of towers
 
guys lets be real if the speeds are 3-7mb, that will be good enough, i doubt it very much the speeds will be any higher then that.
 
I'll be happy with a steady slow-ish (1 Mbps) connection rather than an up and down all over the place 3-4+ Mbps. Then again it might just be that I'm so used to the bad Edge/Gprs signal I'm getting currently that I'll take anything half decent.
 
I just got a call from a lady from cell C for the query i logged with telltrevor.co.za.
If whatever the lady said is to be believed then the service will only be launched in 2 months time.
But i dont believe her. I think they are playing safe in case if something goes wrong in testing.
 
In that case bye bye cellc. I will continue to warn my friends about your lousy network and make sure they don't sign up with you. I hope you go bankrupt. Worst company ever. Full of empty promises
 
Good news for captownians. The cell c 3g service is going to be launched this week for them.
I got a call again from cell c now. They asked me about the area i am staying.
Joburg is last one to get the service. Somewhare in october but they dont have specific date as yet.
 
Yoh. Capetown is styling. I'm in Durban. Forgot that i opened this tread. LMAO. In Durban, i can see it, and my LG phone can select only UMTS (3G), which allows me to log in for a few minutes. Can't access anythng, but it shows Cellc logo and 3g in the corner, which gives me hope and a big smile on my face. Hope that the network will be up properly very soon. Don't know anyone from cellc so don't have much feedback. If anyone else in Durban got a phone like mine, try it our and see if it works.

You will get it sonner than us. We (in joburg) are the last ones to get it.
 
Everyone, i just picked up 3g in Durban... Only lasted for like 5 minutes, but it seems that they allowed me on for a lil while. Why the Delay in Durban?*SIGH*. Hope it up soon.

I think you will have to wait little more. According to rumors the durban is the 3rd city to get it. So you still need wait for the second city before urs.
