Well technically there's nothing to actually "install", which is the whole point of ADSL in the first place. Everything is changed on the provider's side of things, all the customer has to do is plug in the modem and microfilters, and bang.
Telkom is fully aware of this, when I had my ADSL installed in June and I cosntantly complained because they were taking to long and always changing the isntallation date, I was put through to a nice chap called Ben who helped me out - he made my ADSL line a priority and even phoned me at 7:30 in the morning to say his techies had done what they were told to.
Sure enough they had, plugged my modem in and it connected! No techie ever came to the actual house during the entire process, and hasn't since.
