Waitress loses job over request to remove fez

Oh Gawd. Not another halaal thread!

Pretty sure the restaurant was expecting a backlash (bombing) if nothing was done so they took swift action in firing her.
A simple warning would've sufficed.

A waitress says she was fired for telling a Muslim man to remove his fez before going into a non-halaal establishment.

Polly Parolus, 46, said all she was trying to do was teach the young man and his friends respect for the Islamic holy month of Ramadaan, and now she’s jobless.

This makes f*k*l sense. A muslim guy must take off his fez in a non-halaal restaurant because it's Ramadan?

OMG these bloody people who have too much faith in them seem to have way too much time on their hands. they always seem to have time to take to FB instead of going to their place where they pray. you never hear of an amish person ranting on FB.

:crylaugh:

Um, your little scenario actually supports my argument.
Wearing clothes might be outdated or unnecessary but we still do it.
Taking your hat off indoors might be outdated or unnecessary, but we still do it.

Who is this "we" you speak of?People that are 100 years old and over?Because if you go to any posh/hip/popular or trendy place these days removing your hat is definitely not the norm anymore.

And for the record I can't stand things on my head personally,I only ever use a sun hat when essential and then I'll remove it ASAP but other people wear stuff all day long and the same applies at night these days.

It's called poking your nose in where it doesn't belong.

While that is true and I suppose they could have just been going there for coffee after all,the thing is getting fired for a suggestion is a bit harsh no?
