Have you tried a wake up light? Makro used to sell these Qualitel branded ones that were also a BT speaker; but anyhow, I never expected being woken up by a light to be so effective and it is a whole less jarring than having that GD iphone alarm make your ears bleed in the morning. It starts out dim roughly 45 mins before you wake up and gradually gets brighter until its time to wake up. I prefer it to an alarm.

This is my cheaper version:

I can borrow my border collie - he wakes me up every morning at 05:00; sometimes earlier.

She does. She only wakes me up if she needs to go and do her business outside. That happened once in the last year.

Take her running every morning at the same time. Throw some ball or whatever gets her excited. She'll become a reliable alarm clock in no time.

I asked earlier what time you go to bed. The reason is, I've found that the only thing that really works for me is to work out how much sleep I really need (as opposed to how much I can cope with, which is dramatically less). Eventually I was in bed between 9 and 10, and up at 5 to go to gym. Once I got to the 7:30-8 hours sleep per night, I started waking up naturally a few minutes before my alarm clock. And I say this as someone who can ordinarily sleep through absolutely anything.

Get a G-Shock and put it under your pillow or on bedside table. The alarm is quite high pitch, but should only wake you in close proximity.

I usually pay the neighbours daughter to come in and wake me up if I have to wake up early. She's in college and needs the money so I get her to make me brekkie, sweep, iron my shirts etc and the occassional game of hide the sausage.

4:15 is actually more even as time works on a base of 60 and 15 is a factor of 60.
Exactly 1/4 of an hour. 14min just makes no sense.

To care just about the 4/5 and not the rest of the number or the bigger picture is really weird.

I used to get up at 4.30 to get to work by 6.it's been almost a year and I've been getting up at 5.30 to get to work now. You will adjust if you get into a habit

This. My GSD wakes me up at 4:50 precisely. She is so reliable I can pretty much set my clock according to this. You tend to get out of bed quite quickly with a wet tongue stuck in your ear

Mine will jump on the bed, bark at me and then proceed to point out the 2 sticks, 1/2 a tennisball and assorted leaves he brought in during the night for me to throw.
If he wasn't such a brilliant guard dog.........

She isn’t allowed on the bed, but she isn’t above sticking a tennisball into my eye socket when ignored. Otherwise I sleep the sleep of the dead, she will properly fck anyone up trying to come into the house at night.

Same - before we got Max (the border collie) I would be awake and running around checking every single noise.

Now I sleep like a baby knowing he will wake me if anything untowards is happening.
(He even came to wake me a few months ago when one my girls had a nightmare and was shouting in her sleep)

He is not allowed on the bed but in an emergency he will jump up to make sure I am awake. (Which includes one of the cats giving him the evil eye or the creepy being to close to the pool steps)

Your body has a clock.

Learn yours. (sleep earlier equivalent to your time).

I've trained myself to wake up at 7:30 AM on the dot for the past 5 years everyday without an alarm.

Hack yourself.

I get up at 4:15 to be out the door at like 4:50 in order to meet the training group at the BP in time (well, actually 4:14 as I can't handle that odd number in setting my alarm, like the volume on the TV must always be an even number, I digress...) and the alarm going off is waking up the Chinese and causing a bit of disharmony in the home.

What way is there to be woken up without an alarm going off? I tried the vibrate on the smart watch thing, but I get irritated with the watch during the night and take it off in my sleep.

What other options are there?
I thought this might be a different waking up thread, I felt the deja vu when opening it like I had seen this before :D
