My walking pad feels a bit too noisy to use in a meeting where I'd have to engage but I also don't have a standing desk so not an option currently. For larger meetings where I don't really have to participate then it might work. Tried watching series yesterday while walking and kept checking I was still walking straight Getting the hang of this treadmill thing.

Yeah I use it with noise cancelling headphones where the mic does a good job of processing out background noise (i.e. sony's haha) and it works really well. People on the call can't hear anything. Technology ftw.

And yes it pairs with a standing desk really really well. My home office setup is complete and I'm happy.

BRO walking during a series is dangerous hahahaha ask me how I know.... my tip would be to put two things alongside you to give your proprioception something to work with. I.e. visual guides.

I hope to get a standing desk one day but it needs to cater for 2 monitors and my laptop on a stand to the side, or I need to get two standing desks! Also need work to officially commit to remote working before I invest the money.

Couch on the other side, have visions of me falling over that couch if I have a speed wobble The chair on the left actually works well, might end up keeping a hand on that as I walk. Managed an hour yesterday of mostly walking without holding anything and watching series!

3.5km/h when at the desk. Can't really type if going faster than that haha

4.5km/h when not needing to type.

Well done though for making a positive step (pun intended). Walking is fantastic for overall health and this applies to people of all fitness levels.

My missus has the slazenger one... And from what I can see it's decent enough quality and looks to go fast enough for a bit of a jog as well if you want and it was reasonably priced.

Reviving an old thread. Your honest opinion on this model thus far? The missus is interested in getting one. I'm a bit sceptical in terms of reliability and lifespan. I know treadmills need servicing every 6 months or so. What about these walkers?

Technically the walker needs a "service" every 12 months or so, but a service is just making sure everything is lubricated and such, though at the price point a service might be overkill because if it lasts say 3 or 4 years without one, then its cheaper to just replace it at that point.

For the price point, I think they're worth it, so long as they get used. Ours was getting used nearly every day to do 5 - 8 kms of walking/jogging and its been going strong.

Except in many areas of South Africa that isn't really possible any longer due to crime, especially if you work long hours and can't get out until well after dark.

Slazenger Walking Pad Pro V2:
- 1200mmx560mmx1000mm (with arms extended)
- Compact design with wheels makes it ideal for use in small spaces.
- Runs fairly quiet compared to a full sized treadmill.
- Max speed 10km/h.
- I would not recommend this for a 'heavy' person.
- Don't expect to be running like Usain Bolt on this machine, it's not designed for that.
