[Wanted] Windows XP CD

Remember that you might accidentally buy a copy that is not allowed to be resold... Then what?
Which is the lessor of two evils? Buying another illegal copy? or using a pirate copy after you have already paid for a license?

I've only ever had it pre-installed on my new computers. Never purchased an OS and installed myself. So no issues there.

I was just saying that if you are being a stickler for legality then you have to make sure you purchase a copy that is allowed to be resold... otherwise you are no better than a pirate.

I have a XP Pro SP2 Retail license, but I'll have to try and find the email with the serial number. I have 2 disks - the original retail cd and the cd with slipstreamed drivers for Sata harddisks (as far as I can remember).
I can upload an ISO and/or post cds.

If I remember correctly some XP install discs had the key on the disc, going to go find a link.

EDIT:
1. Insert the CD into CD Drive

2. Open the CD and then move into the folder named as “i386”

3. Now open the file UNATTEND.txt to see the Product Key of your Windows XP

4. Note Down the Product key and start using it at the time of installation

And how do you think computers with no internet were activated?

what are you getting at?? :wtf: ... you need your key and you activate via phone ... you fill in your key on the activation screen ... click activate via phone ... it generates a random code ... you use that via the phone ... if gives another code you need to fill in and Bob's ya Uncle. You had to do this everytime you changed hardware like a motherboard.

Eish dude. Have you came right yet?

If not pm me Tomorrow I'll get one for you.

If you just need the Key I can pm it if you MUST have the disk.

Let me look tomorrow if I can find some should have it somewhere.

I'm in northern suburbs thou.

Seems OP ignored my (rather simple) suggestion.

If you download XP mode you can run apps which are only compatible with XP. And its free:

Windows XP Mode provides a 32-bit virtual Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (SP3) environment. This download includes a virtual hard disk (.vhd file) with Windows XP SP3 preinstalled. Client virtualization software, such as Windows Virtual PC is required to use Windows XP Mode.

Download directly from MS

See page 1 (and maybe 2). I wasn't comfy with XP mode as I didn't legally qualify for it (being on lower-end Windows versions).

In any case, the good folks on this thread have assisted, and I now have a valid licence key (as well as installation files from elsewhere). So I need to give it a try and see what happens.

First attempt is to run XP in a virtual box, but if that doesn't work out, I'm aiming for a dual boot on an old laptop (Win 10 and XP).
