Estimates suggest that reducing piracy by 10 percentage points over four years could generate an extra 1 200 jobs in the local IT sector, R6 billion in local industry revenue and R490 million in additional tax revenues.
its not like they actually write u a R100 000 cheque... They only give you money that they recover after a law suite - and this is UPTO R100 000, it could also be 50 cents. I read it on itweb.co.za
So that can take years and years, and meanwhile u still have to work at the company? I guess its a step in the right direction for the fight against piracy in the business sector, but I dont think many people will actually be getting R100 000
Ja... it's 10% of the amount of the settlement or judgement. But honestly.. how many companies use R1 million worth of pirated software?
It's just another scare tactic / publicity stunt by the BullShi7Association.
This will really boost the go open source movement. If only they get ReactOS sorted out soon.
