Right, my Lock is now my no1 Priority for the time being.

Currently at lvl 38 and I need to know which is the fastest way to lvl ?

1. DOT grinding just running and DOT'ng the crap out off all mobs ?
2. Quest grinding ?
 
A bit of both. Affliction is the quickest and easiest way to level. Pick up Siphon Life as soon as you can. Drain tanking FTW.

From level 60-70 SL/DS is the best way to go.

Spell Rotation

Shadow Bolt only.

This spec benefits the shadow damage tremendously (provided you DS a succy), the shadow damage scaling is a lot higher than fire damage. Based on that the immolate will actually reduce your overall DPS by approximately 1%.

Was watching a few grinding videos on Youtube just now, looks like the guys use the instant DOT's and just run around, grouping up alot of same lvl mobs and then run around in a circle till they all die. The void runs behind and taunt one or a few from time to time :D

Looks kinda fun
 
with my lock i found the following when leveling it
1) Destro = nuke the **** before the mob even hits you
2) Afflication probably the most fun to play you have loads of dots if but you are vulnerable to ganking
3) Felgaurd , spec this if you enjoy watching tv, google and so on while playing wow :P you can pretty much go afk put pet on aggressive kill 5 mobs 1 undead rogues and aoe fear them to death :> , but its really boring imo.
 
Morgoth, Affliction has _zero_ downtime. The Felguard constantly runs out of Mana and with Destro you need to drink after every 3rd pull.

SL/DS may not have high DPS but it has no downtime whatsoever.

My experience with Locks:

- I have levelled 2 locks; 1 to 60 and the other to 70. My third 70 is underway.
- I have raided everything pre-Sunwell; that is I have been present for every single new kill barring Bloodboil.

Please do not give bad advise to someone asking which is the quickest way to level.

Spot on. And Drain Life whenever getting low. I used this method to grind for all my mats for FSW and Netherwing way back then. I was pulling up to 6 mobs at a time and coping nicely.
 
affliction has 0 downtime yeah but its kinda hard surviving against a rogue whos ganking you from behind, personally on a pvp server I would spec felgaurd once i get the felgaurd of course affliction up to there, but then again I got quite bored from 1 spec so i might have respeced about 9 thousand times before I even get close to 70

Don't get sucked in by the troll ;)

I am all Affliction atm. But still only lvl 38. I want to rush this Lock to 70 asap ;) With that i mean even cutting down on looting, I just want to get the most XP per hour I can.
 
Currently power lvl'ng my Tailoring proff.

Close to 225 and will max it tonight hopefully. I can will go Shadoweave at 350. Is the Shadoweave Set nice for the lvl 40 range ?
