Warning! Windows rootkit automatically installs from USB

Funny reading this as yesterday i got my 8gig flash drive back from my friend and it had a nasty little autoplay virus.
This one is even worse so i cannot even imagine the destructive potential of this virus.
So easy to infect.......

It's not like the old days when you could just sleep with anyone and not worry about the consequences.
The sentence remains true if you replace "sleep" with "copy" and "anyone" with "a flashdrive"

i hope you laughed at him and hung up... I know I would

Well I've got the Nikalod orgapin.exe virus! I got it from a flash drive (clients usb stick), it replicated itself onto my blackberry when I synced my outlook and no matter what tools I use, I cannot get it off my PC or off my blackberry. So what to do. Its an autorun inf, I've basucally disabled autorun, made sure my firewall blocks it but it just won't die! Worst is, its a network bug. Once its on a network, any PC that plugs in gets it.

We used to run SEP from Symantec at the office which is pretty useless but since a small test group (me included) moved over to Microsoft Frontend Security I have had no problems with any annoying auto run viruses.

Soon we will all move over to M$ and by the looks of the testing we have done auto run viruses should be a thing of the past. Well until a new one pops up. :D

Another smack in the faces of all Windows users!

Those of us on Linux and OS X should just keep smiling and nodding.

I use this. Not sure if it will help in your current situation, but who knows?
It is stalled on a pc and any usb drives that try to connect, are vaccinated.
I found it useful so far as it will also vaccinate a hdd that are connected via usb.
