According to Space.com Physicists have suggested that the ‘Warp drive’, a stalwart of the Star Trek storyline, may become a reality.

Warp speed possible?

The reason behind this argument seeming credible is that scientists believe that space-time expanded at a speed faster than that of light shortly after the big bang.

“If it could do it for the Big Bang, why not for our space drives?” Millis said.
So they are basing this whole "warp speed" thing on a theory? Scientists can't even proof that the "big bang" happened, how do they "know" anything associated with this theoretical event, i.e space-time expanding faster during the "big bang"?
