Yes I looked a little further than the end of my nose after writing this -- I see there has also been a possible shortage of the iPhone 4, which would at least in the US indicate an imminent product release.

I have mine on order from Australia; will be arriving on the 10th December, so if this is true I might very well receive mine after the launch.

I, too, heard that it was supposed to be released/announced yesterday, but that date has apparently changed to the second week of December.

Yesterday evening I randomly received a tweet from someone at CelluCity stating that the iPhone 4S will be available in SA mid-December and I should email them to reserve mine, which seems to back up that info.

I doubt Vodacom would leave a gap in the market that their competitors could easily fill by not offering any iPhones on contract for very long.

Im also due for an upgrade, in two minds whether to wait for the 4s or get the iphone 4 before stocks are finished. Does anyone know what contracts will cost for the 4s? Will they be comparible to the normal 4 or a lot more expensive
