Water drops

was with sigma 120-400.. was kind of on the other side of the room.. lol.. not that far away.. 2m maybe.. was really just using the 400mm lens...and "quickly" decided to take a pic or two.. no effort really.

So I had nothing to do last night so I gave it a shot

Finally got my tripod and dug out the lights from the garage.

Here are my 4 best ones. Cropped and played with white balance.

If anyone's taking this any further & looking for speedlites I got some Yongnuo YN 560-III's for what ended up being R980 a piece inc VAT + freight from this seller on BorB http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/seller/1378005/Linklight
Was the best price i could dig up - Items shipped out of Shanghai & never took all that long even taking the cheaper/slower shipping option.
The 560 III's are the ones with the built in 602/603 RF receiver.

Pixoto is awesome!
Many of the photos there ARE awesome - incredible stuff. The site has its drawbacks though - the worst being the cheaters (plagiarists and folks who post the same photos again and again ad nauseum to try and win some money) who stuff things up for the others...

Nonetheless - it is a great way to get instant feedback on your photography

I tried this the other day.. but when the shutter speed was high enough to freeze the drop, it was under exposed... So have to rely on flash I guess?

Long exposure with a quick burst of flash coming from an angle if possible. Your flash becomes your shutter, in a way.
