Circling back to Cote d'Ivoire and more specifically 14 years ago.
I've always maintained that the Great Cable Outage of 2024 was caused by a power issue.
So here is the evidence above. In 2010, 2 outages occurred on SAT-3 that was attributed to failures on the submarine cable's branching unit and its power distribution. These failures occurred off the coast of Cote d'Ivoire. Does it ring any bells? The 2024 outage is a repeat of these events. Same cable, same tech, same outages.
It also seems that WACS took a short cut and ignored power diversity and used cascaded power off SAT-3.
The final piece of the puzzle is the course taken by the cable repair ship, the Leon Thevenin which steamed directly to repair, guess? The SAT-3 cable.
