Watercooling

It's like buying a massive V12 car like a Ferrari and expecting to be as quiet as a Prius.. You need to manage your expectations about what is realistic in terms of quiet.

Um... Like a Tesla, or E-Tron or... :p
So you can get performance + silence
/end trolling

I take it a side fan did not help much. Can't remember if you got back to us.

I havent got everything up and running yet... Picking up all my fans today.

Once everything is up and running I will test and see.

Was just asking so long, coz my issue isnt heat/noise from CPU... Its GPU related..

Cheers

Yeah I know, my reply in the other thread about fans isn't related.

Cool let us know.

check out this Corsair H50 mod... not bad! :D

there really is so much stuff one can do with your case, the options are limitless!

question, are those all blue LED's in there or are they all UV? hard to tell in photo's

Looks like another project for the holidays! ;)

I am thinking now to start upgrading my WC set bit by bit. The first thing I want to do is drop the rad inside the case and change the tubing to be thicker and shorter.

Wc.jpg

There is my current setup.

Now I have a friend who can probably make me some tubing to spec at his factory. The question is what dimensions do I need to order? I don't want to waste his time.

Thanks!

Fitting sizes are made for tubing with inner diameters of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". Wall thickness is then another 1/16" or 1/8", which means the outer diameter is 1/8" or 1/4" more than the inner diameter. The thicker the wall size, the less likely the tubing will kink when doing tight bends.

Still can't decide if it's worth the price hike to get watercooling in my case. My case makes a lot of noise and cleaning the fans is a major pain but R5k or more is a bit steep, heck I could replace my entire system for that. Granted I'm running a pretty old system but heck it can still play Far Cry 2 at max so no sense in changing won't ain't broke, at least not yet anyway. But the noise, oh the noise!

Archer, would you mind helping me with the below please :) Where can I find the following locally

Red UV tubing (1/4" ID, 3/8" OD)
Yellow UV smart coils (looks nice and prevent kinking)
A res that will fit in my Coolermaster CM690 Advanced II, doesnt need to be anything fancy.

Also, Im reading that these dyes are a baaaaad idea. They eventually lose colour and the build-up is bad for your WC system. Can you either confirm or deny that?

I dont know of any place in SA that sells red tubing, but, Landmark sells Primochill stuff. And primochill do make red tubing, so give them a try.
Same applies for the anti kink coils
Reservoir, the easiest will be a bay reservoir of some kind. I know in the kits you always get a res, EK will usually give a tube type, XSPC a bay type. The nice thing about the dual bay reservoirs is that you can usually mount the pump in them. Although with the right parts and pump, you can mount the pump to the underside of a tube res as well

Dyes = bad for those exact reasons. I have seen one very special dye but thats overseas somewhere and very expensive. But, if you clean you loop (take it all apart, undo the blocks, clean inside them) every 3-6 months you should be fine. But theats a pain in the backside imo, so I rather go for coloured tubing

Thanks man Im taking a look around at my options. If dye is bad, then what about this

Its a red solution so Im guessing that there is dye in there (noob). Looking for red tubing now...

Cool Bro. It seems ALOT cheaper if you order online. I can get the RX360 kit and the waterblock for like 3k @ R8.50. Locally the block alone is R 1800-00

problem is when it comes to watercooling stuff the local selection is limited... at best. Its actually pathetic

anyone with any coin lying around that starts up a site dedicated to this kind of thing will make a bloody fortune.
