Hi guys. Lately I have been having some issues with Google Nav. It would for example have me in the next street over from where I actually am. The other night I was driving and the directions that the voice was completely different as to what the screen was showing. It was showing I must go straight, but the woman was ganning aan about turning left, then right, then take the second exit @ the circle. I was like WTF are you going on about you silly mare! Anyway, just followed the screen and I got to where I was supposed to be. But that was the last straw so have installed Waze again.

Does not matter what phone you use. Iphone or Android.

Which one do you guys prefer? I am going to ask for a poll.

Adverts on Waze are causing a problem nowadays. They are large enough to cover 1/2 the screen on a S6 Edge and when you close the advert manually there a latency of a few seconds - which isn't ordinarily a problem. But if you're in the throes of negotiating your way to Okies Love Shack... It might prove irksome.

Waze for the traffic awareness.

Once the map is downloaded for the route the data usage is minimal. I've even used it while roaming in the UK. I set up the route using the free WiFi at Heathrow and then switched on data roaming once in the car. Total usage for 2 hours driving was about 1.5 MB, choosing about R2. With the many roundabouts on my route it was worth it.

Problem I have with Waze etc is that I need to go online at least once to get maps loaded in a new city. So when travelling you kinda stuck until this happens and AlwaysOff being the useless service as ever when abroad(I've travelled to 4 countries now where the service is offered and it never works, someone needs to slap them with a lawsuit for false advertising.. hrm maybe i should log a complaint as it never works and the support desk goes very quiet when u explain that international is where u want to use it.. I don't give a crap about local), i have to wait till i get to a hotel(kinda ruins all online services). Same issue with Google Maps though they have an explicit offline mode apparently.

Waze adverts.. yucky, especially when driving and i think they killing their product as since they added ads to the service, I have used the service screen and lock my phone once directions are put into it. So essentially killing the feedback loop e.g. reporting cops, traffic(tho this should be sensing), because the adverts too annoying.

With regard to the Waze adverts, I noticed they only pop up when your vehicle is stationary. Once you start moving again they disappear. Annoying non the less.

What's Google Nav? If you're talking about Maps then I haven't noticed anything weird... If you're not talking about Maps then just use Maps, get's traffic data from Waze and all Maps users, routes around traffic on the fly, no adverts

Google owns Waze...meaning they use it in their Nav app for traffic updates and there are no ads..just saying :D

Street maps (paper version) :p
Lol - takes me back a few years. Bitch when you had to stop to check where the next turn is.
Also so many street names non existent or faded too badly to read wasted so much time.
