Its unfortunately set a precedent which the courts will now need to apply to every rape case. If her skirt was short enough then it was rape, thanks Zuma you just screwed up justice for millions of women in this country.

I wonder if someone rapes Zuma when he wears that short leopard-skin "skirt" will it be okay?

You also can't avoid the fact that random sex was/is pretty prevalent among the cadres back in the day. If the woman wasn't into random sex the whole time, I'm not surprised a few people got accused of rape. Of course, it never got brought to court because in those days the courts were Apartheid institutions etc, etc and you've stopped listening to me, haven't you.

But tell me this: if it wasn't rape, why would an HIV+ AIDS activist allow someone she cared for to muck about with her without a condom? Or did she believe in the magical disinfectant properties of showers too?

And no, I'm afraid she's well-educated, experienced and has something which most in this country don't - common sense.

Think Sweden and New Zealand, two of the most democratic countries in the world.

However, my comments regarding constituency-elected individuals still stands; only then is a 2/3 majority not a danger. When you work for the benefit of those who voted you in, even if just for the sake of re-election, and not because "the party told me so" will we ever see real change.

Think the US Congress, where Congressmen are directly elected by their constituents.
