We bought a digital microscope for R350 — here is what its photos look like

Microscopes were once expensive devices used primarily in laboratories and scientific settings. This changed with the advent of digital devices, which are mass-produced.

You can now buy a digital microscope from an electronic shop for R300 that offers the same performance as advanced devices from a few decades ago.
 
I got a bang "good" one, looks the same, but the software is typical chinese. I love that mine got a led light. I cannot take measurements, but the software say you can.
 
You can do that with an old dvd rom just bust out the lens including housing and strap it with rubberband onto the lens of your smartphone. Basically for free if you're MacGyver
 
I have one, from about 5 years ago, (CCM - Cheap Chinese Make) but just cant the measurement software to work.
Send me the software ;)
 
I've got one of these, great fun.

Putting it on skin is great as you can see the sweat being released from your fingertips.

Looking under your nails is utterly horrifying...
 
Used to use one of these for work a long time ago, fine thread and surface treatment defect inspection.
