And it's not as if demand will suddenly drop. So their nationalised company would be fishing the same volumes, if not more without a quota, and the individuals will be doing the same.

They're basically advocating the free pillaging of the oceans.

Because fsck economics, that's why. Ironic how a group with the word economic in their name haven't the foggiest idea about the subject to begin with...
 
Quotas are there for a reason you morons. We need to protect our maritime resources. Fish are not manufactured you idiots.
It's the issuing of quotas that needs to be looked at. Given, the local smaller fisherman are being left behind while certain bigger entities are being looked after.
EFF...fsckshake not even Sea Fisheries knows what's going on in the ocean at the moment. The last 2 months has been extremely bad ito quantities harvested compared to last year this time. Spain is also importing from us big time again. I say stop this this damn exporting and supply local first.
 
A couple of years back I would have laughed at something like this. Nowadays I'm just concerned. Concerned for the gene pool of humanity.....

The fishing industry is one of the most transformed sectors of the whole economy might I add. There are no 100% white shareholders any more in the fishing industry, for more than 10 years already. Sea Fisheries only reissued rights to white people that were significantly transformed, in other words previously disadvantaged shareholders had to be included. You either gave up part of your business as a white man or lost it all. Those are the facts.

Other than the few listed Companies that own the big trawlers that catch mostly Hake, the rest of the pie is owned by communities and individual people of all colours and creeds. In regards to the listed companies, they employ thousands of people to process the fish.

This whole claim is the biggest load of poppycock I have ever heard, these EFFing people are clutching at straws to gain a few votes, how do they expect anyone to take them seriously, they are probably going to be ignored as their claims are fictitious and not based on anything material.

Fishing rights are only awarded to 100% previously disadvantaged people or white people who have transformed. These entities are given quotas which is derived from the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) determined by Scientists and Government, so that we can still catch fish next year without depleting the resource.

Recreational fisherman have to buy permits and are limited to daily bag limits.

Lastly, the DA has nothing to do with Fishing Rights or quotas, this is determined by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, an arm of National Government.

I hate it when people tell lies to sow discord to gain approval. :mad:

It would not surprise me if there is some EFFing supporter who is wanting to smokkel perlemoen legally, I smell a rat here.
