Is there a web/internet accelerator the will increase your gaming and download speed?

I know about the whole caching thing were the info on web pages gets saved so that the next time you visit the page, the time it takes to load is reduced.

Download managers/accelerators can improve your download speed when using multiple segments to download a single file. Its not always that you would get an increase in speed though. Some even offer you the ability to specify multiple mirrors for a single file, which could increase the speed dramatically if one server is only allowing a few KB/s.

You can get applications could increase your gaming speed, but it would be minimal I guess. Like they adjust the TCP Window size, etc.

The biggest improvement that you'll get would be to get a faster (more bandwidth) ADSL line and using unshaped accounts.
If you're far away from the DSLAM, then you'll never get awesome latencies as those playing with < 10ms.

thnx Pada, just thought I'd ask cuz it would have been nice if a program could improve your KB/s that ur getting.
