I'm on Home Capped - next month will shift to Home Capped Pro because quality (priority) is more important to me than quantity (uncapped). Anyway, after logging into WA, my capped account is listed as "shaped".

All WA products have a bandwidth priority profile, which might negatively impact your downloading and torrenting if consumption is high. Such activities are best scheduled into the download plus slot between midnight and 6am.

I've compared the WA free account (a home capped level account presumably) to AH and it's day and night for intl. Looking at making the move myself. Intl gaming is much, much better on WA.

I agree - international has stable latency with little to no packet loss over any given time period.

89K/sec NNTP downloads on a 20mbps line. Truly groundbreaking.

EDIT: I should mention this is the capped product. I feel for your uncapped users.
 
A suggetion to WA on their DSL console. Split the d/l plus hours from normal hours so that at a glance I can see what I have used during 'normal' hours.

205kb/s on a 2 Meg line. Right now. How old is the article you're downloading?

Very recent, and no parts missing. If WA are shaping based on usage, on CAPPED accounts, then I honestly have no words.

I think it's pretty ridiculous that a capped account, where I'm paying for every gig, is shaped more heavily than a business uncapped account, which is "unlimited". I could understand some shaping during the day, but this is literally less than 1/20th of line speed. They don't even offer business uncapped 20mbps, and I'm sure the price would be pretty insane if they did.
 
I've just signed up for a WA Business Uncapped 2Mbps account. Streaming is so good :) I plan to download a 500mb software via HTTP after noon? Will I lose my 5th star after I finish the download?

I'm pretty sure the server you're using must be having issues. Why not try the free AH 1GB to test?

and as for 20Meg business:

But if I had a 20Meg line I'd actually be on the home account as my usage wouldn't be going up.

If only that were the case. 1.9MB/sec on an AH capped account I keep around for emergencies. WA are shaping/throttling NNTP to almost nothing on capped accounts during the day, plain and simple. Very glad they'll be getting no more of my money.
 
I've got an uncapped business account 10mb
Nntp during download plus - always used to be around 1mb/s
Recently it's been almost non-existent
Improved slightly over the last two days 500-600kb/s
I'm on three stars btw

Odd. My console does split the download plus gigs from anytime gigs, and in fact has a third category listed as topped-up gigs. And the console displays my consumption on all three.

I think @Jase is referring to uncapped.

Not all your downloads... But if you move a lot of traffic outside those hours you will start losing stars. On a 2meg account I guess you'd be safe until you average more than 2GB a day for 10 days. Wild guess though so don't take my word for it.

Are you on a capped account?

This is what I have. Most of the d/loads are all from 00:00 - 06:00
