Web Africa ADSL general feedback

thx never seen that page b4

but surly the usage between 18:00 and 24:00 will have a less inpact than 6-18:00

looks like i will besave as i work in the day so wont use alot, unless i download a game ,and that is like once in a blue moon,

got nothing to loos,

cost alot, but for smooth happy streaming its worth it :)

just one more question, does the stream run full speed all the time, cuz now wiht MTN

it runs at 800,then drops down to 400,200,400,600,100,800
very unstable and i hate that

i want one that can stay at +-800 till its bufferd 100%,can webafrica do it

I've had speeds of 1MB/s before on my 10Meg line and doesn't fluctuate.

i am thinking of moveing to WA as i stream 80% more than i download
and mtn streaming is blaw, but nice for downloading

if i go mad with streaming after 5pm will it have a big effect on my threshold?
will get the 10mbps business with 8mb line

so worce case 20gb per day after 5pm

will i have any slowdowns?

i need a account that can stream from anysite any where with out problems

gonna grab the free gb's and see if it works for me

20GB per day outside the hours 00h00-06h00 will most definitely put your account into "affected status" or worse. Not sure if you'll really be affected though since you'll be using the account after hours when the network is less busy (in theory).

Missing out on this competition :(

Moved over the weekend and Telkom came today to install in the new place but now there's an issue with the cable in my unit. Let's hope it can get sorted this week, I have some catching up to do.

"20GB per day outside the hours 00h00-06h00 "
so between 18:00 and 24:00?

affected status, dont seem that bad,as streaming will still work normaly etc,so probaly wont worry me that much

just got the 1gb free for test and it runs awesome!
streaming 850-920 on my 8mb line

Yeah the shaping eases off at 5 anyway. So even if you are managed, I doubt you'll even notice.

as with the 1gb cap i get lovely speed way better than i ever got wiht MTN cap/uncap
stable at 850-920

twitch/youtube/google maps no problems,better than i i expected :P

On a Home Uncapped account, when you are shaped what exactly gets shaped? Is it just P2P/NNTP? Or HTTP downloads as well or what exactly?

Home uncapped accounts use the star rating system, the lower down you go the more you're shaped or throttled. 5 stars is OK for everything except P2P/NNTP, 1 star everything is just about unusable during the day. Keep your rating up by scheduling downloads from 00:00 - 06:00.

Will WA have issues if one use SSL for NNTP?

They throttle your connection - irrespective of the content source you use. So if you fall in to the 2 star range any dl's you do will be speed limited. Best to keep those for the DL+ time slots.

Yes, it would depend a lot on what account you're looking at, expect it to be throttled if your star rating goes down on a home uncapped account. As Orihalcon said, keep your downloads for DL+ times if you're on a home uncapped product.

Wtf. My account's still not debited  I have the outstanding balance - R399.00  It was supposed to be fully settled on the 1st of August. Despite the fact that I HAVE ALREADY FILLED IN AND SIGNED THE DEBIT ORDER MANDATE FORM AND THEN EMAILED IT TO WA. Just great  I've just opened a ticket now. They better respond to it or ELSE!

Man, this ISP business's so stressful for me
