Ok... I have internet accounts with 3 ISP's and decided to do some tests. Tests were done from a Cape Town base on a 4Mb/s line with a Belkin router. Also note tests were done on a public holiday around 4pm the afternoon. Pls note that I did only one test of each type for every provider. I would have to do two more sets of tests on other days and then give an average to get a more precise picture, but here so far is my first set of tests.

After looking at this first set of results it seems as if Webafrica has the fastest ping rate out of the 3 providers with Mweb lagging far behind. Speed wise locally all providers where close to each other whilst internationally Webafrica lagged far behind and here Mweb came through with spectacular results.
Now depending on what you use the internet for different providers would be more suitable. Online gaming for instance largely depends on ping rate for best performance whilst downloading would be best suited by a faster speed.
I will do the same tests again in a couple of days and post the further results.
