Web design program needed

I have created and managed small websites for three local village associations. These sites were created using Serif WebPlus 6 which is no longer compatible with MWEB and it's successor WebPlus X8 has also been discontinued. I am looking for a similar, simple, website package - either free of for a small nominal fee - where I would be able to use the existing web pages and would appreciate any input from forum members.

I'm not familiar with WebPlus X8 so forgive me for the silly questions, but based on the info here it appears to be a website template manager that uses php and mysql.

Is the above correct regarding its requirements?

All of this sounds very similar to WordPress so that may be a step in the direction how ever you would need to find a way to transition your content from the existing sites over to a new site hosted with another provider and gain a new skill.
