I would like to set up a website and emails for a small company, we already have a domain and telkom webhosting however someone else started this a long time ago and does not want
to play ball to set it up well, especially since he already has the domain name that works well with xneelo.

What would be the best web hosting and domain hoster to get I am going to use WordPress for the website as it is not the major reason we need this it is for emails as we have
telkom emails and it goes down to much causing lost sales. So More importantly I need a good reliable email hosting like Exchange or G-Suite but I am a noob here and would like
the best route from the experts :)

I am still in university and would like to help my dad so not doing this for money

I forgot to mention I would need 5 email addresses with a decent storage option or If I could store it locally if too expensive. The most I could spend is R300pm
Thanks

Did you have a look at what Afrihost offers? I think our hosting packages are well priced. We have clientzone for managing your hosting package. If you need support we have a toll free number you can reach us on even from a mobile phone.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

I can recommend Domains.co.za for hosting. Check out their R199 /month package which has 20GB storage. Should be sufficient to cover emails and website. GSuite will set you back an additional ~ R60 per email address.

Hi Guys sorry for the delay, I have 2 exams due by tonight :( I will definitely look at these options in the next day, Last question With SLA times how long would it take if say the website or emails went down to be resolved ?

Btw you guys are amazing thanks for all the help :giggle:

I see domains.co.za have some big customers, with regards to emails I would guess using domains.co.za would work great without g suite and does the 20GB package allow for wordpress and If if I transfer a co.za domain is it included in the R199

Generally speaking for your budget and the type of hosting (shared), there are no fixed SLA agreements. You would need a dedicated server for that level of support.

@cavedog I will look at Afrihost definitely but you 100% have my Fibre sign up when it gets installed in Malvern :)

Apologies for the late arrival in this thread :)
With a budget of R300 a month we could provide you with a decent amount of storage, but my advice is to start small and upgrade as needed.
Upgrading with us is simple and done in real-time - so when ever you have the need it can be done on the fly.

We provide free migration of website + mail from your current host with any new sign up.

Here with more details

I can comment on recent experience.
I have recently signed up with Absolute Hosting on an email only package, and caused my own issues connecting to my mail, which Jade resolved very quickly and kindly.
The experience so far has been really good.

Thanks for the feedback and positive rating - glad that we managed to get you sorted out with minimal delay.

With domains.co.za what is the difference between having normal hosting and dedicated Wordpress hosting is there a disadvantage in using normal hosting with Wordpress over dedicated Wordpress hosting and it says 5 Wordpress websites is it possible to separate emails and the websites completely from each other

Hi Jade

With regards to the multiple Wordpress sites, is it possible to completely isolate both Emails and websites from each other as I wouldn’t want say two companies websites and emails clashing

The sites would be created under one account that you have access to but users from each email domain have no access to each others email services or website files.

I hope this answers your question?

Each domain, like mybroadband.co.za and takealot.co.za allow to create email addresses on that domain.
So [email protected] would be an email account.
Email accounts are independent of each other.

On many hosting platforms, you can add "add-on" domains.
So one account could have 4 domains as add-on domains.

With regards to the differences between dedicated Wordpress hosting and or just normal web hosting I will use Wordpress for the website but what’s the difference as both say you can do one click installs of Wordpress

In the case of :

Absolute hosting : your Wordpress hosting vs directadmin hosting

Domains.co.za : web hosting Vs Wordpress hosting
