Can someone please help, I am looking for a good company to host my website...that will offer me competitive prices as well as reliability and good support.

I am currently paying R50.00 Disk space 25 MB for a .co.za domain, Now I would like to upgrade my disk space which is going to cost me R99 for 150 MB disk space....I think the price is just too much for a 150 MB disk space...

I need someone to give free hosting for the Aeronautical Society of the University of Johannesburg. I will be using the za.org domain name, and need a host for this. Is anyone willing to help out?

Real Webspace have a relatively cheap plan (only R9 ). They have good support and (excellent 99.9%) uptime. ;)

Ya ... but we on a very tight budget ... we only raise about R2000 in membership fees for the year, and we have a lot of things to pay for. We can't afford hosting fees. So if anyone is willing to help, it'll be great.

Can anyone advise me as to why web online is so expensive compared to the other sites I have been advised to use? R99 pm for 150 MB? I think thats a bit pricey...but mybe there is a reason 4 this

Deceptive pricing, by making prices higher you are fooled into thinking that the product is better quality or better service.

PM me for "free" hosting, i'm going away for the weekend but will be back for monday ;)

Na, thats just the thing. "Cheap" is not always better! And there is a big difference in price between true "local" hosting and international hosting!

I manage a number of websites, if they host internationally - its ALOT cheaper. Down side to that is if your customer base is in SA, rather stick to hosts that *actually* host within the SA - reason being, if a SA user is capped or has a local only account - your website will still be accessable. If you are hosted internationally, it wont. There are also other factors - website load time speed is generally not good with international hosting, meaning that your website *generally* loads quicker for SA users if hosted in SA.

I would recommend hetzner.co.za - been with them since 2003, BRILLIANT support, excellent servers and pricing is really competitive for the service you receive. I think myadsl even hosts with them (well I know they used to if they are not anymore)

P.S The reason why SA hosting is so much more expensive is bandwidth. Yeah, you guessed it. Telkom shoving their high prices down our throats means that local hosts need to charge alot more to cover their bandwidth costs than the international hosts need to charge. Depressing...

Thanks guys, for advice...I have checked out a number of hosting companies mentioned.....and I must say the one that really caught my eye is "ravenservers.co.za", they offer good prices and plenty of storage space...for just a few Rands

ColdFusion hosting...?

Does anybody know about ColdFusion hosting at great prices?

Thanx...

I will have a look at those links... TEXO looked good with AMAZING prices. Too bad ColdFusion is so expensive :-(

Hi Guys. My AeSUJ website is being hosted by www.effectivehosting.co.za ... they have some great features on their site, such as fantastico which gives you tons of PHP scripts like phpBB, OSCommerce, etc. They are also very cheap for what you get ... I think they are using international servers though, but not sure ... cause speeds are still good.
Otherwise, my Digital Addiction website is being hosted off www.imbalistudio.co.za which is also very good, but more expensive, but they are definately SA servers.
