Apologies if this is in the wrong section

Im looking for a web host. I have an parked existing domain name. My website will consist of few html pages setup with maybe some flash. Nothin fancy. a database is not really needed but will be advantages.
I need the cheapest, least hassle solution

Any thoughts on gridhost (standard)
or
circle.co.za (linux) ?
amplehosting.co.za(International Hosting Plans)?
elitehost (US)

I got google apps to handle my email

crazy to host locally - too much downtime, connectivity issues & cost is exorbitant, see: www.host4africa.co.za (been hosting with them since 2004 without issue, 21 domains) or www.gridhost.co.za both host at www.theplanet.com in the heart of the internet...

Free hosting is also available at: http://xtreemhost.com/plans/ (USA) and http://www.hostingunlimited.co.za/hosting.html (RSA), however support is usually an issue and “free” generally does not equate to “no charge” in perpetuity. I would suggest these, before you consider any of the hosts reflected in this link: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Telecoms/11065.html especially Hetzner (rip-off if you ask me, note hidden charges once volume increases)

Read the fine print and pose the appropriate questions to your shortlisted hosting providers. You don’t want downtime of your domain when you need to move it; as your hosting provider is not delivering [on their “99.9 % uptime” promises and the sudden unexpected charges; i.e. most, if not all local hosts] after reviewing this link: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&s...co.za&btnG=Search&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Hi emineminem

Please PM me your details and I will get someone to contact you to discuss your needs.

Kind regards
MWEB Operations

I've been using Serve Hosting for years without hassles - SA based company, but Internationally hosted servers - their site is @ www.serv.co.za

They've always been reeeeallly well priced too!

I'll recommend that you use TRL Technologies. Their packages starts at R30 per month which includes 3GB disk space, 30GB bandwidth, Softaculous scripts installer, RV SiteBuilder. Visit their website at www.trltech.co.za.

Would strongly advise against the use of MWEB.

Too many technical issues, with support staff either poorly trained or totally inefficient and response times in excess of a week per incident. Needless to mention inflated cost.

@ MWEB Operations, can provide you with several “Case Numbers”, however all hosting packages / domains have subsequently been cancelled and moved to international servers.

As for hosting locally, including IS, WebAfrica and Hetzner – all experienced downtime in the last two years, due to either power failures, equipment failures and or routing issues.

MyBroadband has also been affected by these issues recently.
