Web Intact (Or intactless service)

yeah , i've been with 3 wisps in total now ....same problems , same support problems , same lack of communication.

Adsl and 3g...minimal issues.

those who don't have an option other than wisps...invest in your own 2.4 links and make a plan!

i wonder what the % of wisps is that actually care about their infrastructure and proper rendering of service...0% ?

i had to let one of my customers sign a silver leased microwave contract with the T-beast - due to the local wisps having tons of packet loss and congestion.

the wisps didn't care that it had been a transport company.

The way it looks GWI is not gonna improve but only get worse, the past 2 weeks the service has be crap, telkom must just move their butts and com and install my line,

Can you belive it the first time in four weeks im actually getting the connection speed im paying for:

Start Time: 08:35:15
End time: 08:35:40
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 24.61692905426 seconds
Download Speed: 16 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 128 kbits/s

It seems like i spoke to soon this morning, its all back to the crappy service again with even more time outs then before, it took me 5mins just to get to this page.

Start Time: 13:00:56
End time: 13:01:48
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 52.819658041 seconds
Download Speed: 8 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 64 kbits/s

Well,well,well.

Would you believe, GWI actually DID come and exchange my router!?!?

I did call and threaten first but that seems to be the only way one gets anything done with GWI.

The only problem is I cannot get into the router config, so there's no way I can check signal strength etc.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

I presume you know what the router IP address is?

It threw some wobblies today - notably Friday afternoon which for some reason seems a regular event. I guess the guy who cranks the handle, gets drunk. Not bad now:
Start Time: 00:58:37
End time: 00:59:00
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 23.624480962753 seconds

Lets hope it stays this way,

Lol, I see this thread is linked to 'worse WISP' !!

Well , here where I live I want to totally disagree :(

GWI are about 10% better than the WISP I am using :sick::sick:.

Service from TElkom are WAY better than these guys, if you catch my drift ....

Currently my DL speeds lately (last month or so, is MAX 115kbps, but averages at 50kbps ) paying a lot of money for my "dialup" :(

Who are you using???

It sounds near impossible for someone to be worse than this lot.:D

ROFL

Their "opposition" here is WORSE :(

I can't play games, download speed is now (last 4 weeks) only barely above 50kbps, have phoned them several times. Wrote two letters to the "Manager" and still waiting after more than a month and a half.. K@K promises of "I will get back to you with your problems". Also all the staff have learned the TOT as well.... don't give much help :@

I want to cancel this POS crap of mine. CAN't ping websites AFTER Proxy, also CNC3 online has 90% No connection errors to games hosted when I try to connect to them, tried to explain there is maybe something that they should configure through their proxy, BUT just blatantly told THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEIR NETWORK.

Also rebel 998: I ALSO have a Mikrotik router (RB133). Basically, they have configured your router with username and password, so you won't be able to log in.... its true you can't see signal strength / connect to different high sites without the password...... I had the password for a while, I connected to two different ones usually, from BAD to uhm "little better" than BAD connections lol. Then after a while they changed my login username & password to the router remotely..

So, I would say thats whats happening with yours as well I guess.

Anyway, ALL the POS WISP should just go, it's making life unpleasant.

They say its Mikrotik.

Well Chameleon said most of it, but if they did configure your router they could have changed the username and password, but if they did not it still will be the default password it came with out of the factory,

Does anyone know the default/factory password on mikrotik, to help rebel out here, myself i do not know im using Senao and the default on senao is username: admin , password: admin,

Well, I dont know , I think its default this :

Username : admin
Password : [Empty]

Mikrotik (with RouterOS v 2.9.17, which is OLD) is like this.
See this link....

About resetting, well there is NO way except Resetting the routerboard, which will ALSO remove ALL PPPOe settings etc i guess.

EDIT : This link confirms what I thought, just see Mikrotik in list

Cheers
