Web Intact (Or intactless service)

have a local transport company who used a certain wisp .....they had SOooooooooo much issues - wisp continued to blame our network equipment (switches/cables ect)..

so company decided to make the beast (telkom) rich and pay $$$$$p/m for a 256k microwave leased ...guess what...they are sooooo much more happy now with a stable (but slow) service - rather than a "burst" but no uptime :)

Welcome to wisps.

The issue is one of management in this case and I don't see why you think it should be WISP specific. That said, they remind me of the early and mostly incompetent ISPs (94-95). I had one who never billed me until six months after I had stopped using them. Needless to say, I ignored it and never heard from them again.

Yesterday 6pm internet died, came back this morning after 10AM, now internet crawing....

I'm out of there from the 1st of this month. Cancelled on a week's notice and told them to stick their month's notice period. Needless to say, I haven't heard from them. I must say, ADSL is soo sweet, although I whacked the 6Gb cap in seven days ...

ADSL might be the best (sort of) you can get but cable theft has left me with no telephone line for the past three weeks already and Telkom cannot even tell me when this will be repaired.

So that option is not always viable for all.

With crime being what it is here, a wireless solution seems to be the best in the longrun.:D

I've had awesome service from GWI for the last year, then they come and fck it all up and make me want to change to Telkom!

Is there no legal action that we as the "customers" can take against them?
They changed their service and didn't notify us with so much as an email.
They're not providing a bandwidth monitoring service.
AND!!! I can't even get hold of them over a weekend to buy more bandwidth!

Surely Icasa has rules and regulations about this sort of behaviour. I'm going to contact Icasa by the weekend to file a formal complaint.

Going to ICASA is about the only thing you can do because nothing else will work.

I tried everything and no succcess!

At least they changed my router and since then I have had much imrpoved service!:D

"Awesome"? For a good few months they were down one week in four.
And an e-mail was sent out on 17 October last year. Of course that's the first and last anyone's officially heard. They completely ignored any mail responses and never bothered to reply.

And I presume you were charged for this? Was this about six weeks ago, at the same time the service improved anyway?

It was around then.

At least it's a Mikrotik now.:D

And no, they did not charge me. I think it's because they know what a grumpy customer I am.

I am waiting for Neotel to cover my area. If theres an alternative to GWI, I might take it.

GWI changed the rules in the middle of the game, thats just not on. when i called them i was told that if i was not satisfied, i was welcome to take my business elsewhere which i promptly did, quick! I am now on telkom 4mb adsl with an mweb account. best decision i've made in years. telkom's service is exponentially better than gwi.

Gwi really needs to jack up their service cause they're already circling the drain... and rightfully so.

Its amazing, i hardly get any time what so ever to use the net at home, but every month around the 23rd my connection is almost non existent. Cant see why i'm being penalized because the other users used up their bandwidth... just waiting for neotell to zone me....
