Web 'prime tool' for hate groups

I wouldnt just say hate groups are on Facebook... the SA media are doing a pretty good job there! www.iol.co.za is a prime example
 
well....wether in groups or not, hate is there...so is racism....its all pretty much tied up to a level of freedom of speech in my opinion. If I hate you, and I probably do then dont go around cutting out my tongue..I'll hate you even more then, rather take what I hate about you and prove me wrong. we cant just continue avoiding these topics to no avail..to hate is a right,in my opinion even being a racist is a right, to state your opinion is a right...you also have the privilege on the internet of completely avoiding most of that. when people act out on these emotions violently atleast you guys whould know why they did so...
 
Well duh! The internet is the 'prime tool' of all sorts of groups these days including charities and church groups.
Before the internet the phone, fax machines and postal service were "prime tools" of all sorts of groups.

There is a site theoretically for SA Expats, set up by some twit in California, that spews out nothing but hate and negativity about everything from SA to Obama and the Jews.

This forum pales into insoignificance, trust me.

Visit that place and you WILL be hounded out if you do not believe in the Aryan brotherhood, and dare to question the main manne with respect to any of their beliefs!
 
I think MyBB is the only place I know of where people can debate with out* hurting some one's feelings to* much but still allow them to have their say. The problem with hate groups is you can not debate and thus not prove or disprove their grounds for hatred.

Most definitely! I was really relieved to find this site, because I had been given a hiding to nowhere on that other site, for simply putting my own point of view across.

Basically I was told to Fit in or F**** off!

Fitting in meant agreeing that all blacks were evil, and that Hitler was a misunderstood saint!

but still, wether these okes have theyre disscussion around a burning cross or online its theyre bussiness, you the viewer can online atleast close the browser, and its up to the owner of the site to lay out the rules/regulations. I say sure, everyone has an opinion, and everyone needs to blow of steam, rather let to guys blow of steam online..thus they are in the public domain and should lets say one of the participants psyche out and kill an oke atleast the authorities will have a lead on to who did so..but most of the "hating" is harmless and account to nothing. But obviously there also is a fine line between the two so I suppose if the stuff gets completely out of hand (as in child pornography etc) then the authorities must go in with a sharpened spoon and cut out theyre testicles..but seriously, racism/hate is to boxed, espescially in south africa..my guess is atleast 40% of our population have racial hate/issues (yes even black people can be racist) and we need to discuss this, we need to know what the other people are thinking if we are to demolish our differences.
 
the problem is that it is near impossible for a racist to see another person any other way even in the face of overwhelming evidence. and racists & criminals can often not be told apart. racist have no conscience when they see a person of another race & criminals have no conscience at all times. you cannot debate with a racist!

Fadza, that site is filled with hardcore racists indeed (probably cowards though, just hiding behind a monitor & keyboard),
I'm not racist. Racism is a crime ... and crime is for black people.

That is the problem with S.A and "freedom of speech" if rules/regulations are too tight then we cannot reach peaceful compromises or understandings and tolerance of one another but if there is no rules at all then discussions leads nowhere and ultimately no progress in knowledge and wisdom are made.

I'm a Philosopher and with that said I welcome others opinions to even change my own opinion if it is proven to me that it was wrong then I will accept it so because they debated me so that I could understand and comprehend it or likewise.
 
i agree with freedom of speech, but i think it should be like freedom to touch. just becoz you have the right to touch things, it doesn't mean you an touch people who don't want to be touched. also, a long with force, you can touch/slap/smash/punch/poke anything you want, but if it infringes on other people, you have to question it.

a lot of people use "freedom of speech" to say terrible and degrading things, which while not as bad as physical harm, can be very inpleasant and even damaging to some people. an example is the website www . zasucks . com. people are entitled to think whatever they want to of the country, but on occasion you have people on the website posting pictures of dead black people, and once even a dead black child, and cheering for more to be killed.

if we had criminals bragging about houses they robbed and people they're murdered, would people tolerate it? :) you get very evil people, especially on this site, and they continue to keep their hateful views without wanting to compromise
 
The funny thing is,many times those outspoken people here on this forum is the same ones you get in the malls,all friendly and full of smiles.:)
 
I've learned a lot from myBB for the time I’ve been here. I think it's good sometimes to blow off your steam and say what you want to say even though it is racist or might appear racist, but it's also extremely crucial to hear what other people who disagree with you have to say, and try to see things from their perspective.
